Pretty stupid method taking advantage of people with very little computer knowledge on facebook. The article does not say much but it is pretty much abusing Facebook users with those "Subscribe to view the joke" pages that end up making someone join the Facebook page, invite their friends, and also subscribe to a youtube channel. Obviously this will never work for more then a few people because most Facebookers have wised up to the scam.
@ QuackWare You are absolutely right! This was only to educate. I've used Facebook before to promote products, but not in a deceitful way. I do not condone such behaviors. What he did was unethical. What I'm trying to make people understand is that you can use Facebook for marketing as long as you do it in a honest way and respect people (no tricks). Just be honest and relate to people!
The method is time consuming for use. But still it is a good idea for educational purpose as to what can be done with facebook to get youtube subscribers!
100 000 subscribers in 24 hours??? I opened this thread expecting a good laugh at some ridiculous sales scam. Turns out it actually worked. What a downer. Goes to show I need to keep up to date with facebook and the possibilities it offers.
buy a big list and send out an email campaign. I have a myspace user list that would be perfect to market to. I have all the lists you could want. As long as you comply with the can-spam act you are legally allowed to send out emails to anyone nationwide. write me and I'll answer anymore questions you have.
@ Joshvelco Yes views are way more important than subs. However, his views are now increasing like crazy because people (including subs) are starting to pay more attention to his videos. And the ironic thing is that he's getting paid more by Youtube now (Ad revenue) even though he's losing lots of subs everyday.
Buying lists is useless considering the fact those people receive tons of emails from marketers (more than they can read) and just mark it as spam. The best way to build a list is to do it yourself!
surely the only merit in having subscribers is having subscribers who were not duped into subscribing in the first instance?

Optimize it through social networking websites like Facebook and twitter.. If you follow these ways in an appropriate manner, you certainly will get lots of subscribers in a rapidly manner..
