I Absolutely HATE PAYPAL

I've been trying to do business with various websites for years and I've always been stopped by one company ...

    PAYPAL.

The only thing that this so-called payment processing company seems to have mastered is the ability to COPY AND PASTE.

For years I've been trying to get a real response as to why I can't recieve payments in my country - and they've been giving me the EXACT SAME DUMB VAGUE REPLY over and over again. Here's the latest copy/paste email that I got from them below:

    =================================
    Thank you for contacting PayPal.

I understand you would like to use PayPal for receiving payments. I would just like to inform you that even though PayPal is offered in nearly 200 countries across the globe, there are some nations that are unable to fully use our services to receive payments. The primary reason is the challenges and complexities associated with the worldwide financial network which becomes even more unique within each country. It is not a reflection of the status or reliability of our members in these countries.

As PayPal brings service to new countries worldwide, we continue to work at enhancing our payment platform with nations where we are offered. The global financial marketplace is unique and varies locally between each country. PayPal always seeks to ensure compliance with local and international laws before unveiling any new service. This is why we cannot offer a firm date or timetable for expansion of specific services.

To see which countries may only send money, go to the PayPal website and click "Worldwide" at the bottom of the page. Then choose "190 countries."

Thanks for your patience and visit this page often to review updates and new capabilities for our worldwide users.

Don't forget, we're always around if you need us. Just click "Help" in the top right corner of any PayPal page to visit our improved Help
    Center.

    Sincerely,
    James Garner
    PayPal, an eBay Company

    =================================

Would you believe me if I told you that this is the EXACT VAGUE SET OF REPLIES that I got 4 years ago, 3 years ago, 2 years ago, 1 year ago - AND TWICE YESTERDAY ??? Think I'm kidding? Try it out. Send a help message to PayPal and say that you are from a country that cannot recieve payments - see what kind of response you would get.

Its pretty obvious to me that the "copy/paste/mail merge" mentality is the specialty of the day in that company. I've recieved checks from AlertPay and other companies so I know that the "challenges and complexities associated with the worldwide financial network" - is actually "ONE BIG STEAMING PILE OF B.S."

It's a small world and other companies have learned to make and recieve payments to any country - so when the hell is PayPal going to stop behaving like it owns the internet, get off its royal backside and actually do something about these so-called challenges and complexities ???

    Regards

Vahid Lancaster (someone who is actually serious about internet business - unlike PayPal)

If you hate it then simply don't use it.
I guess many users love PayPal. :D

Well they are not just the automated reply from them but the valid reasons telling you why they can't allow their services in your country. PayPal alone can not do anything in order to provide you their services rather they have to coordinate with Central bank of your country in order to start their services. Why don't you mail your Central bank and ask them why they can't make their policies flexible enough to let you use PayPal services.

    Thanks

If your country is not supported by Paypal.. there is nothing anybody can do about it. You got to have lot many people requesting Paypal to resume its services. As and when such number of requests become huge, Paypal would gladly look to comply with the policies of your central bank. Alternatively, you could also request your Central Bank to accommodate Paypal to offer its services! :)
Either way... you got a long road ahead! :(

@Jalpari - I've had the account for over 5 years, but I'm only allowed to make payments, not recieve any, just because of the country that I live in - which is stupid in this day and age.

@Digital_shubhi - You are not getting it. I'm not mad at the companies. Its PayPal that's limiting business opportunities. For example, I wanted to start selling software on TradeBit.com yesterday - but guess who they are using as a payment processor? PayPal! So its not a question of not using PayPal - its a question of why is PayPal limiting opportunities for entrepreneurs just because of their residence.

@radhika.writer and RightMan - Been there - done that. and besides PayPal has more "clout" than other processing companies, like AlertPay for example - but if an online company uses AlertPay, I can recieve payments. You telling me that PayPal can't do something about that - but other companies can? So like I said, the "challenges and complexities associated with the worldwide financial network" - is actually "ONE BIG STEAMING PILE OF B.S."

Like I said people, their specialty is "copy/paste/mail merge"

You are going to see more of this on the net preety soon ...

Mate, I seriously think there is nothing wrong at PayPal. If they are not supporting your country then nothing can be done. You have to find another payment processor.
There must be some reason for why they are not supporting your country. This is a pure business and no one will do it without seeing their profit, even me and you :)

Would be willing to do business for a loss ? No....
In the same sense paypal isnt active in your country. Why would they not want to increase their customer base ? As paypal rightly pointed out, there are some financial obligations that need to be fulfilled in order to carry out business. However, your disappointment with paypal is certainly understandable.

I also hate PayPal because they do not allow my country users to withdraw money from their accounts. I saw in some posts they are talking that local Central bank disability to support PayPal but in my country Alertpay and Moneybrokers allow their users to withdraw money to local bank accounts and VISA or by check. No PayPal they don't treat equal for every one and that is unfair. If PayPal support my country with full features I would say I love PayPal like you people but here I can't.

I hate it, but i use it. Why? The same reason as why i use Godaddy too. They are the most popular.
Dynadot and Moneybookers are so much better than Godaddy and Paypal, but are less popular. And many people just want to use Paypal and Godaddy, and you cant make a business if you not follow that.
But i hope that people will realize how much better Moneybookers is than Paypal, and how much cheaper, and simplier! And security is not a question at Moneybookers.

The thing that makes me mad the most is the random blocks... I been a customer since always day one, never had any problems just because I don't do big transactions on regular basis when I do have some I don't understand why they get so jumpy and require all types of documentation whey they have all my info social, verified phone number, address, photo id, passport what else can I provide to identify myself? That's why I been using googlecheckout instead, lower fees money in my back account in 3 days smooth transactions so far.
