Okay I know the big guys are now looking down on me. I wanna know if theres a recognized SEO course that i can take up? I'm from India - but i dont mind moving else wer to do this. Any clues?
I dont think a certification on seo course is going to help you much as it all depends upon your level of competence, skills and knowledge that you acquire through real practical work and by sharing information with others.
That course will probably teach you the basics, which is all you need for most whitehat SEO. I doubt it will tell you anything you can't already glean from Google's webmaster guidelines, Matt Cutt's blog, or on this forum. Make a thorough study of those, and you might find you can save yourself a trip to the States.
well, ive gone through the ebooks around. and think have got a decent study on the basics. what im looking for is a certification.
I wholeheartedly agree with etechsupport's answer above. However, the benefits derived from any SEO course, or knowledge will be directly proportionate to the individual's perseverance to apply his or her new skills. No SEO course, or certification anywhere will provide that innate ability.
well, i had been shirtlisted for AdWords rep post at Google, but lost it at the final round. im looking for a certification - u know. i know the stuff from practical learning.trying on my blogs. but to apply for a seo thing u need a certification right? or how else can i convince someone that i can do SEO? any clues apart from showing my google adsense revenue or google blog status?
There are no certifications in SEO worth the paper they are written on. You just need to rank for good keywords, and get as many sites as you can with good organic traffic and plenty of toolbar green.
I got a certification from searchenginecollege.com Honestly though, I would just print out the archives of DP and use the money towards promotion of your site.
To apply for the post of Google Adwords Specialists you donnt need to be a SEO, neither do they hire any SEO for same. It is purely an advertising specialist job with excellant skills for writing english. Basically your job will be to write catchy ads, attracting visitors. They rejected many SEO's for the job, instead hired freshers with excellant command on the language... Neither do any SEO certification course has any value apart from Google Adword Certification.
Oops - did i mess up the whole topic? I meant - apart from my "desire for certification" i was a adword rep "finalist" thats all i wanted to say - pls dont mix up both. And Adword representtive isnt about writing any ads - its ONLY about reviewing ads (advertisers ad on google adwords) and approving/rejecting them. Nothing creative there budz. Hope i have cleared up everything. Cheers!
its ONLY about reviewing ads (advertisers ad on google adwords) and approving/rejecting them. Than i guess its the most boring job.
