How much traffic can your server handle?

    Hi,

I have Wordpress with a StudioPress theme and I'm having all kinds of issues with Hostgator Resellers Aluminum. They are consistently suspending my site for CPU overusage. I'm getting around 4,000 - 5,000 visits per day and my bounce rate is around 79% and average visit is about 1 minute with about 530,232 page views per month (according to webstats).

Bandwidth and diskspace seems to be okay. I am only having an issue with CPU usage. Hostgator said upgrading to VPS won't fix the issue as the CPU will be the same as the Resellers. Hostgator told me I need the Dedicated server ($174 - $219) per month. Does this sound right to you?

Also, I do have WP-SUPER-CACHE and TPC Memory Usage plugins.

My friend told me hostgator able to handle 10,000 unique traffic per daya (baby plan). Why you get problem on 5000 traffic.

Hostgator wrote back and recommended that I stop using All-In-One SEO. Ugh!

I have. They want me to either disable all of my plugins, if that doesn't work, upgrade to a $220 monthly dedicated server.

5000 per day is nothing, are you using any heavy graphics or anything?

I would check your plug ins. I'm not sure, but I don't see how All In One SEO is causing the problem. Could be that one or more of your other plug ins are fighting each other or not really compatible with the version of word press you are running.

Out of all of the plug ins you listed ( and that is a lot), I always had the most problems with Supercache.
For some reason it caused an enormous drain on my account and I never used it again.

I need most of those plugins. I guess all-in-one-seo isn't that important since I'm already ranking #1 in google for millions of keywords. But if I remove it, will I drop in google? My website is a webzine, so I need a lot of those plugins.

    The plugins I'm using to save CPU and bandwidth can go I guess. i.e;

    broken link checker,
    clean options,
    super-cache,
    tpc memory usage,
    delete UnUsed images,
    Delete- Revisions,
    democracy,
    akismet,
    all in one seo,
    google sitemap,

Should I get rid of the above plugins?

    What is a VSD?

I'm pretty sure these 3 are not giving you the problem. I can't vouch for the others.

5000 isn't anything, try to reduce the number of plugins that you don't really need and see if it does anything if it works then stay where you are

You could try W3 Total Cache wordpress.org/extend/plugins/w3-total-cache/ this is a great cache better then super-cache if reduces the page sizes, uses compression and can minify your site, and you can also setup a CDN, use maxcdn its $10 for 1TB (for first 1TB) this will take all your cacheable files/images and put on there server which can be distributed access many server.. it will remove the load on your current web hosting and improve your website speed.

You can also download yslow on firefox which will run a test on your website and tell you how to improve your website to speed it up and make it more efficient.

5000 visitor is nothing compare to mine. Mine is 18-20k visitor aday with hostmonster and pay 6$ a month. pretty satisfied so far. And I think All in ONE SEO is not the problem. All bloggers using that plugin these days, its like a must #1 plugin.
