Hey all, new to the forums and new to ClickBank. Well, lets see how this goes. March Goal: To earn back my start up costs. Domain name: $22.40, template: $22.00, AdWords: $30.00; Total: $72.40 My current method: I knew I wanted to be high in searches and that I wanted high traffic. Instead of starting from scratch I purchased a domain name from another individual that received 500-800 unique visits a month and came up #1 in both Google and Yahoo search when searching for 'home advertise' I then purchased a template and recreated it to work as a landing page for this campaign. Instead of purchasing additional web hosting space I am using domain forwarding to a folder on a white collar fansite I run In addition to the current traffic the site receives I created an AdWords account to draw in more traffic. I started small with only $30.00 to test. If I receive a lot of additional traffic I will pursue AdWords more. Hopefully I can make 72.40 in a month. That's only $3.15 a day starting today ending March 31st. Any suggestions or comments?
What is the product you are selling and its sales price / commission? Very interested to see your progress.
Thanks for the reply. I am selling 13 products as of right now. My niche: working from home and making money online. Maverick Money Makers is the big product I'm pushing. I'm not sure what the overall sales price / commision was for all of them. If you want to check it out its homeadvertise.com.
You have a nice site but you picked a very hard niche to start with. $30 in adwords will get you about 30 clicks a day as they have a high CPC...especially for beginners. Best of luck and make sure to post your progress! FYI: make sure you track your keywords as you will be surprised on what keywords actually convert.
I don't understand your setup. When you click on the articles, they go straight to the sales pages. Why? They should at least go to a review page so you can presell the product. But overall it's just misleading. People are expecting to read an article, not sales page.
@ ParthS, My220x I didn't think about that.. Great idea, I'll get to workin on those Any suggestions on how to review it/should I purchase it myself too? @ wildogre, Skribblez Thanks! @ rjd1265 Thank you, I'll def keep an eye on them!
Ask the vendor for a review copy before you review. Then ask them for an interview. Then write articles around the product, linking back to your landing page. Submit these articles to ezinearticles.com. See what happens.
Thank you for the input ParthS, I checked out your thread 'Path's March 2010 Clickbank Journal'. You are a great inspiration and I really appreciate your help! I'll get started and post back, hopefully with great results
After some thought along with the suggestions from you all; as well as before I start writing articles, I feel that I should move direction from 'work at home' to something I'm familiar with. I help my cousin from time to time flip houses and its loads of fun, hard work, but fun. What I'm thinking is making it a website to advertise products that I feel are / would be helpful in home rehabilitation. Expect updates soon, its gonna be a late night Thanks again for all your comments! I appreciate your input.
Vinny, you should always focus on a niche you're already familiar with. I'm in the health and fitness niche because I enjoy working out and know a lot about it.
Agreed. I made my first cash online by promoting things related to my hobbies - music & games. It makes for an easier start when you pick something you know and love. You'll be able to do much more with it because you already have knowledge of the niche and you will also find yourself enjoying the job a bit more because it's related to something you already hold high interest in.
@ ParthS, brada7x Thank you for your input. You two are way more experienced at this than I am so, probably wise to listen to you I really appreciate your help. I'm a computer technician by trade and a nerd so I decided to go that route instead of the house remodeling. I love house remodeling, dont get me wrong; but computers are my forte. And brada7x, you are right, makes it WAY easier writing about something I already know and enjoy. Anywho, I had a domain name already registered from a while back that worked great. I have it up and running now, techintersect.net. I ended up using the same template as ParthS actually, I had one I had purchased and was going to use, but this template is just beautiful. I also took your advice on writing reviews for a presell instead of linking directly to the site. I'd like to go a little more in depth into them, what do you think? Currently need to write a review for easybackup. Thanks for your help and input
Uh oh.. Where's dlm?? I would've kept homeadvertise.com and promoted real estate e-books with it. Just a suggestion
Good luck - yes I would like to see how you do with this, the only real problem I see is the niche - very competitive! Although that does not mean that you cannot make good money with it Just make sure you do a killer review site or something and have an awesome pre-sell and it will be interesting to see the results. Chris
@sevnrock Great suggestion. I still own homeadvertise.com, right now I just have it forwarding to techintersect.net to take advantage of any traffic it receives I'm going to focus on this right now, but definitely see myself doing that once techintersect starts generating some sales. @Chri5123 Thanks! I'll keep you all updated. Yeah, I figured computer repair would be a competitive niche, but it's what I do for a living 45 hours a week So its what I know best. Hopefully I can get some good reviews up and draw in some sales.
I can almost guarantee you will get 0 sales from the forwarded domain. People who find your website by searching for 'home advertise' are not going to buy a software that fixes their computer. Just a thought..
@ sevnrock That is possible, but even if I don't get any sales from it; I feel its better than just letting the domain sit there. I have tried what is called 'domain parking' in the past and didn't make much from it. Who knows, maybe I'll work on homeadvertise as a side project. Thanks for the input. Site update: changed to a theme I found that fits my subject better imo.
