Need USA site translated to US Spanish urgently

    I don't want to hijack your thread but I am really curious what US Spanish is :cool:

    (*think of this as a bump to get more exposure, not a hijack)

    I'm not sure myself - I guess I'm just assuming that Spanish spoken/written in the USA will be different (colloquial?) from e.g. Spanish spoken/written in Spain.

    USA English is certainly different from UK English both in language and spelling.

    If Spanish is the same the world over I would be surprised, but happy as the translation should be easier.

    Its not the same the world over, there are many dialects (and since those that speak Spanish in the US are from many different countries, there are a lot of dialects in the US)

    My Spanish is only conversational so I would PM "Fryman" on here as he speaks both fluent English and Spanish and being from Mexico he will be able to translate in the dialect you are seeking.

    A member here (thanks geegel) pointed me in the direction of http://www.rentacoder.com and I have agreed a project with someone there. So far so good... the system is fairly painless to use and looks like it provides good protection for both seller and buyer.

    Just be careful when selecting someone as sites like RAC and GAF are notorious for translators bidding on a job then running it through BabelFish which produces very flawed text.

    Not sure what I can do to be "careful" - I have chosen someone with a very high satisfaction rating and have chatted with him first. There remains an element of risk though as I certainly don't read Spanish.

    I may create another "project" to simply assess the ouput from the initial translation.

    PS >does anyone else (except presumably Shawn) have more than 12k posts?

    Thats the best way although make sure the good feedback is for their translation and not other projects. If you read all of the comments it should give you a good idea

    My pleasure to help. BTW an Argentinian will not probably use BabelFish, it is easier to do it the old fashioned way.
