Still have a hard time believing people are putting out 20 articles per day in consecutive days. For me, I can write an article in 20 minutes or so on average, but needing to write 20 in a day would be incredibly difficult. I'm writing 10 a week myself, with the primary goal being SEO benefit long term (not short term traffic, although that would help). It's nice to see improvements immediately as far as SEO.

yeah, but it is a business so you do not pay up front and you can write off expenses to offset these taxes and if you know what you are doing and have a good bit to write off then you do not really have to pay in at the end of the year either..

Haha, true that. I kind of take it extreme. I mean, I've never been able to stay at a full time job because I just don't like the idea of others telling me what to do without an explanation. When someone tells me to do something (even my parents), I say, "Why?" Most people don't bother to answer why, it's "Because I said so." It sucks, but that's the way the world works. If more people were willing to ask questions and figure out the best way of getting things done without trying to exploit each other, life would be better for everyone. Managers need to realize that they need to seek feedback from their employees, and vice versa. Respect me, and I'll respect you. I've been going to interviews for a year and a half at the behest of my parents, but it makes me sick to my stomach everytime I put my $320 suit on. I told my dad about the 2 grand I made through my site, and he didn't seem that excited. I guess he has no idea how to react since he's been working 80 hours a week for 24 years. I respect him tremendously, but There's ALWAYS a better way.

Yep, I completely agree. I've always hated that "because I said so" BS that people try and pull. I believe there needs to be a reason for everything otherwise it's pointless and there's no need to do it. Managers will tell you to do pointless stuff just to "keep you busy" even if it doesn't help the company out at all. That's what I always hated about certain jobs I had. I would be finished with everything that needed to be done and there literally wasn't anything else to do, but they want you to "find something to do" anyway which I don't understand. Either way they are paying me to be on the clock so why do I need to do meaningless tasks?

I agree with the way Tim Ferriss said it in the 4 hour work week. That people are always confusing "staying busy" with actually being productive. You can stay busy for 8 hours straight and not actually accomplish anything whereas you can be productive for 2 hours and get way more accomplished than you did in the 8 hours by just doing meaningless things. It's one of those concepts that a lot of people just don't get it seems like.

I know what you mean about your dad not being too excited either. My mom's always on me about how I quit my job a few months ago even though I'm making money online so there's no reason for me to have the job. I try to explain I was miserable and literally hated waking up everyday but she says " so what, it's still a job with health insurance." There's no way I would stay somewhere just because they cover my health insurance when I can just get it myself.

I think it's just the way our parents were raised. Back then the internet wasn't even around and there was really one way to make a living. The whole making money online thing is still pretty new so it will take time for people to catch on. Even when I try to explain this stuff to my friends who are obviously more current with technology and the power of the internet, they don't really understand it at all. Oh well, it doesn't effect me at all. I'll still continue doing what I do and proving to people what's possible with the internet.

Clearly you don't understand much about taxes. You most certainly need to pay taxes on your profits (which by definition are revenues minus expenses) and "not paying up front" makes a minimal difference (maybe 5% a year tops)

You need to be paying estimated quarterly taxes... about 30% of your profit ...

Myself I would never work for another person again, knowing what I know... I make in a day what most people don't make in a week... thats crazy!! But its a very real thing.... that only exists because of ambition, knowledge and the power of the net..

I think you said it right there. My cousin told me - "don't worry about what they say. Just do what you want. Even when you're able to stand on your own two feet, they won't understand."

I think that's the sad truth. O well.

As for taxes, here's what I did.

Start an LLC, put money in that business account.

Every month -- write a personal income check for 70% (30% for taxes).

If you attend IM conferences (like the Affiliate Summit), buy IM Products, I think you can write it off for tax self-employed tax deductions.

Screw taxes! Register your company in a country with a more beneficial tax code.

Yes, I was wondering that as well. I have set myself a target of an article a day although I will up this once i have my website fully set up and lots of other products to write about. But is the OP still doing 20 articles? If so how many hits is he getting on them and what is the CTR? Do articles still get a lot of hits down the line or are the hits better in the initial stages? My CTR on my articles is a bit low at the moment I think so it's all very well focusing on getting out 20 articles a day but I know that for me I have to really research the title and keywords etc to make sure I am focusing on the right thing.

Very ambitious target, yet still doable, but with so many things which crop up in life you can't always gaurantee to reach it.

I aim for around 10 articles per day, over half of them will be spun content which is quick and easy to generate, and I use them for submitting to article directories. The rest is hand wrtitten so to speak, and ends up as content for my personal sites.

Well I just think OP is busy or so and isn't updating. It was obviously going good for him, doing $30-$60 a day so it's not like he just gave up on everything and stopped updating...

What happens to the article published after three days?I usually never find my articles in the first 10 pages after a couple of days even though they do appear on the first or second page the day it gets published. Is this why people churn out xxxxx number of articles per day?If you are busy writing articles you do not have time to do backlinking and promoting your articles. So they have short life span.Is this all to bum marketing? What am I missing here?
