Ok, Just wondering on this one, i tried wikipedia'ing but that didn't really help

Will HTML5's release mean that you can add videos and audio to your site simply with the <video> and <audio> tag?

And are they really removing the center tag? :(

Yes. In fact, you can do it now in modern browsers (not IE). The center tag has been deprecated in HTML4.01 for many years and removed in HTML5.

I don't see the point why would you use center tag when you can simply use CSS for alignment.

Deprecated does not mean obsoleted and browsers are required to support HTML4.01. Still, you are counting on that element to continue to exist in the future but it could be dropped at any time so learn CSS. In addition, you can't count on other software to support deprecated elements as time goes on.

Don't you think, since css1 was adopted in 1996, css2 in 1998, and html4 deprecated the center element in 1999, that you might be a bit behind the learning curve? Or were you being facetious?

    cheers,

I agree with kk5st, if you know only HTML and still use the <center> tag, then you are pretty behind and should probably catch up before worrying about the release of HTML5 and how it won't let you center without CSS.
