In Steve Irwin's own words *** "When I see what's happened all over the world, they're looking at me as this very popular, wildlife warrior, Australian bloke. And yet back here in my own country some people find me a little bit embarrassing." *** "Crikey, mate. You're far safer dealing with crocodiles and western diamondback rattlesnakes than the executives and the producers and all those sharks in the big MGM building." *** "I bled a lot. I got hit across the face. We couldn't film for seven days. I got whacked, underwater, across the face. I finished the shot, got into the boat and blood started coming out." *** "I get called an adrenaline junkie every other minute, and I'm fine with that." *** "I have no fear of losing my life. If I have to save a koala or a crocodile or a kangaroo or a snake, mate, I will save it." *** "I would never blame an animal if it bit me, because I'm at fault, not them. I heal so quickly. If you cut my arm off I would grow a new one." *** "I'm high as a kite, mate. I'm flat out like a lizard drinking, all the time. You know I have trouble just sitting here. You know, I'm just like, got to get up."
F**k the stingray! Very notorious animal. This is saddening... Steve is such a good guy and his wife loves him so much. I'm a fan and love watching his croc hunter's dairy shows which show his real life. I watched many of his stunts and never thought it would end this way. I'm getting the feeling that human is a piece of fragile glass. The fear of death and of losing someone i love just creep upon me. RIP Steve Croc Hunter...
I guess you learnt a lesson from Steve by getting away from stingray. After all, it looks more dangerious than croc. If it wouldn't kill, you might get hurt badly.
yep when iheard this i was moved!! i never thought his life would end with such a non-dang animal i feel insecured of lives now a days after seein the pathetic ending
I was so horrified when I heard this news. I seriously feel for his family. The television world is sure going to have a big hole to fill. If they ever can
Yes very sad news, I couldn't believe it when I first heard it on the news. RIP croc hunter Steve Irwin
This is very sad. I live close by his wildlife zoo and after visiting it I truly appreciate what he has done with it. He has been such a great contribution for Australia in many, many ways. Not only did he put all the money he earned with his documentaries back into the wildlife but he has also educated a lot of people about nature an wildlife. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
I always thought a croc would eat him but i suppose his cards were marked the SECOND he started. He risked his ownlife but when he fed a a croc with his son bob in one hand and feeding the croc with the other. He was a selfish man,its ok risking yourself BUT NOT your 2 year old son. Im sorry guys but he just seemed very selfish to me.
Hogwash! If he thought his son was in any danger, he never would have had him with him. That croc was fed three times already that day, and was tired and quite sluggish. They did this purposely so he would not pose a danger. I've seen the video and it is anything but selfish and dangerous. He got a bad rap for that IMO. Reading about that incident and seeing it are two totally different things.
Sorry Mia but IMO i think what he done was crazy, remeber you only have one chance at life and accidents do happen.
Apparently he was quoted saying that if he died from an animal attack, he wanted it filmed it will be on Google Video soon enough
it is very sad all of us here in Kerala (India) too. Making frontpage headlines in the local newspapers with pictures of Steve. He will be greatly missed, that is for sure..
Everyone should of saw this coming... the guy was cool, but he was crazy doing what he did. He was just asking to die.
