Does anybody else see bizarre results for these commands? site:www.superstockhemis.com site:www.northeastbracketracing.com ? I see the first result from the correct site, but the rest are from sites like studystuff (dot) com, nyg-fans (dot) com, suphoto (dot) com.... What's up with this?
The site: command hasn't been working right for months. Either it is on purpose or Google doesn't see it as a priority to fix it (I personally vote for the first reason)
Here's how I see it... Trying out different searches like this, I see it on a lot of vBulletin sites. I wonder if it's got something to do with that?
Compair the results on Google.com with the datacenters. Yes, Google is smoking pot!!! http://www.seo-contests.com/cgi-local/google.cgi?search=site:superstockhemis.com http://www.seo-contests.com/cgi-local/google.cgi?search=site:northeastbracketracing.com
I just did a site: and allinurl: check on my site, and other websites are showing up along with my webpages! Yes, G is smoking dope again!
Hah, yep, me too. Using site: command now provides irrelevent results, pages from other sites. (no, this is not just vbulletin sites). I don't believe this is on purpose, as site specific searches are an important google function. Many webmasters give google traffic via site specific searches. ps: and the other sites appear - before - my site - and they (the other sites listed before mine) are supplimental. hmmppff
Ah, I hadn't noticed that... Maybe the supplemental index is screwed up? The cached dates on most of the non-site links are old, too... Februrary, March, etc.
This is far beyond site: just not working properly.. or not displaying all pages. I'm seeing this : http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:nddb.net&btnG=Google+Search For my site, the top resultsaren't even from my domain. ALSO, as you go through the pages, the number of results jumps around wildly. The site: operator is totally jacked up right now... I can't imagine it's supposed to work like this.
