1st attempt with the astore

Discussion in 'Amazon' started by Allpedal, Sep 5, 2006.

I do have a vary targetted niche site that gets a lot of traffic. I setup an astore onto the site and it's implemented very well. For a couple of weeks now I've been averaging 220 clicks per day on the items but nobody has bought anything yet.

What is the norm for conversion on something like this. Is 200 clicks a day a good number? What else could I do to help convert the clickers into buyers?

    thanks

Thats very disappointing. How old is your site? and what kind of traffic are you getting! Are you buying traffic or is it organic?

maybe because the books aren´t suit for the target users?
Are you having the right books in there?
    Are the books expensive?

Maybe the target users dont really wana buy anything...it´s a change

(If its a gaming ladder maybe you should have gamming books and stuff, in amazon you can choose the books you advertise -- ignore this if you aldready done it)

I have seen they had their aStore.. you could make something yourself if you have the time for it.. i made my own store some time ago..

People have to do so many things to get something from Amazon.. They all give up. That's my opinion. Only "stupid" people buy from Amazon, I think.

It depends ofcourse on your visitors (age, lifestyle etc) and site (topics, content). Every site has his own results. I ve seen good results at some places.. but not for me :(

200 clicks per day seems pretty darn good. I get a 5-6% conversion rate on about 30 click per day. You should be seeing something with that many clicks.

Have you verified you got the right Amazon associate ID in your script? It happened to me on one of my stores and took a couple of weeks before I caught it.

I don't understand why people always associate Amazon with books only...
I am selling everything but books I made $2,800 in Amazon sales just yesterday not a single item was books!

I'm not using the books at all, just related parts and accessories.

Yeah, people who don't want to fight traffic, parking, crowds of people, incompetent sales staff, and would rather have the items shipped to their door (free with super saver shipping), not have to pay sales tax, and save 10%-40%.

Wow, that must be nice. Yeah, they have a lot of stuff to choose from, dvd's, cd's, jewelry, luggage... to name a few.

Care to share your technique? :p

Well the problem is that i like to have items related with the contend of the site, for ex those 2 in my sig. i cant sell planes or hollydays. Okey it´s possible that i sell but is unlikely that someone buys it. So i put books, it seems to me the more interesting items to the targeted users.
