    It's still in AdSense, just a sub-section

This is the exact way to get somewhere in Adsense. I stumbled on a niche that happened to be related to what I did every day in my job. I just started writing and with some good old fashioned SEO work, managed top 10 placements for almost 15 key phrases that I was targetting. It doesn't take a lot of math to see that even if the daily searches are low, you tend to get many page hits from them. What many forget is that because you aren't tagetting a broad phrase that most visitors are very interested in your content at that point and the CTR's are usually pretty good. If your phrases pay well, well off you go.

A little up this thread someone mentioned that people just post these things to get lots of hits from DP but that sounds like someone who doesn't understand Adsense well yet. Any visits I might get from the forum would not be targetted and just random visits and hence would not be good candidates for traffic. Find that niche, I know there are more out there than we will all find together, but it takes a lot of thought and brainstorming to find them somethimes. To all your successes!

I am surprised you only noticed.

However, my advice is create a new account and try beta blogger - since many people have encountered problems when they switched over.

I have started a beta blogger blog - it now has editable templates so you can customise it more, so it is worthwhile considering it on a new account (you dont want to risk your old stuff just yet while they test stuff).

It was about 7-10 days ago that they enabled adsense to appear in beta blogger - before then, it was the most requested feature for inclusion.

The overall setup is likely better in the beta version - if nothing else you can try it and see if you can get any success while it is in beta stages. In the future you will be able to merge accounts so it should be fine - but the safest way to try out beta is on a new account.

Great thread, Jamx. :) Here are my thoughts -
I disagree (in this case). I will admit that as soon as I read the thread title, the cynical part of my brain immediately thought it was just another cheap attempt to grab some traffic to their site. But as I said, I quickly realized that this thread was not one of them. Jamx did not publicize any URLs. And when queried about anything, he backed it up with informative and interesting posts. Well done, Jamx. :) Repeat thread or not, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

On a side note, what I find interesting is what motivates people. Some posters here are clearly focused on the dollar sign and make that the only factor when deciding what new sites to set up. Personally, I could not do that. As mentioned earlier, tap into what interests you, and build sites on those topics. Suddenly, it no longer feels like "work", because you're enjoying what you're doing. The (financial) rewards will follow naturally.

There are many many pearls of wisdom shared in this thread. I plan on re-reading it a few times to make sure I didn't miss any. ;)

You missed the point of my post. I wasn't referring to ads on his site, I was referring to his Adsense ads in this thread. I have noticed a propensity of certain posters to create MFA threads on DP. It's annoying because most of the time the information contained in the thread is useless.

Hmm. If I missed them, I apologize. But I don't recall him having posted any of his URLs or ads in his posts. Which are you referring to specifically?

Ah, see? Just showing my newbie status - I was just looking for ads in the posts.

Nonetheless, I still maintain it is not a gratuitous post. I can only speak for myself, but the thread has spawned many valuable nuggets of wisdom.

Nevertheless, MFA threads on DP should be padlocked. :)

He already said that he doesn't even participate in the shared revenue feature of the forums.

    Hei jamx03,

Thanks for sharing your story. How do you generate traffic to your blogs? How many blogs do you have?

I did a small experiment, and I was scared shit when my CTR went up to 20%. I was even worried someone was doing a fraud :).. But that is the beauty of niche... rightly put my friend....
