I was wondering why so many directory owners are targeting the keyword seo friendly. The daily searches are practically non existent plus it doesn't really make much sense as a description, SE Friendly yes, but why SEO Friendly. I just thought of asking in case I am missing something here.
I don't see any long tail, if people aren't looking for SEO Friendly they aren't going to search for any longer phrases either. In my opinion the long tail matters when you are in a highly competive niche that is really hard to rank for the primary keywords. However here the primary targetted keywords are competive only because a lot of people decided to pursue a non existant market.
Long tail - not longer phrase. The long tail is the 1000's of possible phrases that normally you would not think about - casting a larger net - rather than concentrating on "popular" terms. If they are "concentrating" on that one phrase - then I stand corrected. If, however, it is part of a much larger contextual campaign - then they are on the right track.
When I look in my log.... I get a lot of google/yahoo/msn queries for "SEO friendly directory" for some reason alot of people query that and submit. I get an average of 5 queries/day like that then they submit.
seo friendly is a way to ensure peopel that the link they will submit will be in safe hands and not screwy, i guess its for marketing... I never really targeted that keyword, i believe my directories are seo friendly and i dont need to claim it
Great - evidence! There is the answer - people are targetting it because people are searching for it. Thanks loopy!
