While this solution might help short term, there is no such thing as a quick solution to getting quality back links. I would avoid this at all costs if you are in this for the long term.
I'm not sure what's your theory here, it's free, it's fast, and it can't hurt. After all seo = get links. So i'm not really sure what's your point.
My point is, anything that promises free/fast links is dangerous in the long run. There is no such thing as quick, fast, easy when it comes to SEO. Maybe for short term thinkers, but in order to do well in the long term, it's going to take hard work. Also, installing a script to run on my server based off a forum post is a little sketchy, no?
A lot of people can actually read what it says in the script ; if it would be 'sketchy' someone would've said
I believe you (or someone else) shared this script in another forum as well, because I have used it. In my case, it did work, but it would time out after every 5-6 sites, so I would have to delete sites as I went....but it does work.
I don't think think the PO is saying it is the way to go to get backlinks, it is to be used to get your site indexed. Big difference. It I put a new site's link on a site that is indexed, in theory the new site should get indexed faster. I see no problem with the scripts intention or that it would cause any harm.
Exactly. @SearchBliss not sure why it times out for you, it worked perfect for me. Maybe you can play around with the code, put some debug lines maybe to see where it's cracking, it's open source after all .
