This is actually a continuation of one of my previous posts. Article marketing, if done correctly, can be one of the most effective marketing avenues. I am not a big fan of mass article submissions. Why? Because duplicate content can and will be ignored by the search engines. IMO, the best way to use an article directory is to write a quality article, something that is actually informative and useful and ORIGINAL. Upload it to your directory of choice and in time, Google, Bing and other search engines will index it, people will link to it if it is informative, and that link “muscle†will translate to your website through the keyword link you place at the bottom. Just because an article directory has high PR doesn't mean you will benefit from it. The PR of the page that contains your link is what counts. Your link could be on a website with a homepage PR-10, but if the page in that website that contains your link is 0, then the link is just a little better than useless. The key is QUALITY CONTENT. Your article should be counted as an "authoritative document" by humans. A search engine algorithm is built around that and incoming links are what Google and others use as a voting system to tap human opinion. There is no fast method to building quality article links, but incoming links will follow a quality article. Sometimes it takes years, but IMO, it is a very effective way to build links. Articles are excellent link baiters. The truth of the matter is, individuals are more likely to link to an authoritative document faster than they are to a website of the same subject. Therefore, an ideal way to market your website is through articles. Write high quality articles and submit them to an article directory with a link to your website at the bottom. The link would, of course, be a text link containing your keywords of interest. Once the article is in place, market the article. This is known as “link-funnelingâ€. Hope this helps. Tip: If English is not your native tongue, have a native English speaker review and edit it. Then submit it.
Thanks for the great tips. Well, for me. you don't need a native English speaker to review and edit articles. It's not a requirement, for us to have a quality articles. If the writers have the skills and expert on this field, I assure you that they can deliver better quality specially in terms of grammar and sentence construction.
You have to convince the readers to click on the link. One way to do it is to add "curiosity" in the article. You have to keep them thinking... that they will find great things behind the URL. -Epage
I think we should add that although a high PR home page does not guarantee a high PR article...your chances are better at EZA with a PR 6 home page then at one of the many directories with PR 3 home pages. No guarantees, it seems that comments and views do contribute heavily to the PR of the article
I agree with the emphasis on quality content completely. In fact, that's the big emphasis we try to have over at Content Crooner. Most of our content creators, looking at the free reports we give them on their articles' results over time, simply find that the more substantial, useful, and interesting content they provide, the better results they get. In fact, beyond being perceived as an authoritative document on a subject, a great article marketing piece can really grab a readership and build a loyalty to a site or blog. A loyal readership can be one of the greatest assets you can have. Once people have that, the backlinks from article directories combine with word of mouth, and people use our integration with RSS and Twitter to keep people up on their latest posts. None of this can happen with articles that are just space fillers; strong original content is definitely more than worth the effort that goes into creating it. Thanks for posting the useful article marketing tip!
Eza ia good because it's moderated by human. Goarticles is not as good since it's automated posting. Certain article directories demand unique content. I think those are the better directories. The readers will not see badly spun articles or articles full of nonsense.
I actually review all of the articles submitted to my article directory. If the grammar is bad or incorrect, I edit it to make it correct and then approve it. Most articles can be easily approved and are pretty informative.
I agree that the key is QUALITY CONTENT. It has to give some information to your reader. Don't confuse an article with sales copy. Never submit an article that is just a sales pitch.
Duplicate websites will suffer in the eyes of Google. If crawlers find 2 sites that are exactly alike, or pages on the same site that are identical, both sites or pages will drop in the SERPs. Having your article published on several different sites is an entirely different thing. Think of the news wires; AP and Reuters syndicate their content to several thousands of sites, with no penalties to my recollection. The same is true with your own content. If it's fresh and interesting and lots of people publish it in different places and outlets, that's great. No need to worry about penalties. IMO
