Does anyone use YPN for a myspace resource site?

    Hey all,
I see a lot of myspace resource sites making their big bucks from adsense ads. Does anyone run one w/ YPN?

The reason I ask if because I have YPN and was banned from Adsense. Thanks.

I run one with YPN ads, but my site doesn't have a lot of traffic yet so it only gets about 30 cents a day (today has been $1.55 so far though).

I heard that MySpace related sites with adsense is about 2 cents a click while YPN is about 10-25 cents a click. Not 100% sure though.

I heard somewhat the same thing as PwrUps, but I heard it was about 7-20 cents a click with YPN. Also not completely sure.

I have tried both on my MySpace site and my CTR is much higher with Adsense because of better targeting, but I only average 5 cents per click. On the flipside, Yahoo CTR is low and ads are most of the time not relevent - even when I target them but the click payout is a bit higher.

Frankly, I would rather provide my users with relevent links and get a higher CTR with Adsense. With Yahoo you also need to worry about getting too much international traffic unless you are geo-targetting which I don't want to bother with.

i disagree, with a lower ctr, you lose less visitors. plus how many international users actually use myspace?

It seems all you see are yahoo ads on myspace sites.

Well you're right that with a lower CTR I would be retaining more visitors, but you don't make money on an ad click unless they leave your page. So the whole idea is to get a ton of people to visit... but then when they leave your page they click a relevent ad rather than just close the browser.

So in my opinion, the higher the CTR, or loss of visitors as you put it, the more money that is made:)

not really, adsense gives you 2 cents per click compared with ypn with which im averaging about 50-60 cents per click. adsense gives me 4000% (no joke) better ctr but revenue is about 1/8th of ypn.

i've been getting $0.05 to $0.10 with my myspace sites on adsense for the past month. originally i was getting higher $/click with YPN but for me that has dropped to around $0.10 for me with YPN. so with the much higher CTR with adsense, i'm making more with adsense.

i don't see how you can get $.50-.60 with YPN unless you are picking non-relevant but high paying ad categories - if you don't choose an ad category the YPN ad relevance for myspace sites is pretty much ads for myspace related sites now.

I ran a site in entertainment category and averaged $0.05 - $0.10 per click I now switched categories and get over $1/click, don;t ask which category that fact that little people use it is why I get high clicks and I want it to stay that way but the point is saturated generic categories are not the way to go.

actually category hardly matters. if you choose the wrong category, they won't fill you. it's more of a suggestion rather than a definitive selection.

Anyone willing to discuss what catagory targets they use? I have been tweaking mine and I'm getting a decent CTR but my eCPM is still lagging. With AdSense it was about $3, ypn is only $1. I'm getting about 20 cents a click currently. Any ideas?

to get the most clicks you shouldn't target any category. let their system scan your page and determine the ads that show up. that way you aren't at fault.

remeber ypn count for each ad impression, google counts each page (if you have 4 ads on each page and you make the exact same each day for both, the CPM will be 4 times lower on ypn.)

Adsense does better for me then ypn, even though i am getting .02-.03 cpc, the ctr makes it up because ypn ctr was under .01%
