Due to my automatic renewal agreement, some of the domains which I do n't want got renewed (today) If I cancel those domains now whether I would get back the amount paid for it? I have heard that if you cancel domains with five days for registration you would get back the amount, in this case whether it holds good?
You can cancel domain name registration, not renewing. But in any case that worth to get in touch with domain name registrar and ask them suggestion
Its depend on the company policy. But if its GD,then you're out of luck, they don't give you back $$ although you cancel it.
Just got mail that Godaddy has refunded the amount for the domains that got auto renewed which has been cancelled by me on March 2nd I first emailed them on the date it got renewed ,they emailed back me saying that "Cancel the domains" and just reply back to the mail I got from the support I cancelled and initimated them and they cancelled it yesterday and I got the refund today (They said it would be between 5-7 days but I got it today itself)
You are lucky mate, if you got your money back $ from godaddy, or infact any company whom registered or renewed domain, because once domain (international) registered can not be canceled. I guess you got it back, because mistake at GD side, you request cancellation, and they didn't done so.
GoDaddy will pay you back, but it can't be very often (domain tasting). When you are using dynadot, you can cancel domains in 5 days grace period, but you will be charged ($2 i think). Adam
I have had good experience about godaddy and new domain refunds (made a typo when registering domain), but I am not sure about renewals. Any way, you should write to them ASAP and they will tell you what to do, but deleting domain will not help you.
I cancelled it on the day it got auto renewed so only I might have got refund..I have heard about Godaddy refunding within 5 days grace period but not of renewal domains
