Well I am not sure what legality we are on this. Since we are not exporting any goods but offering services, I think just the code for the service (Software consultancy) should be enough which I think paypal is sorting out with RBI as I am not sure under what export code the services like link building, affiliate marketing come under. Generally when I get a wire to my bank, I inform the bank that it is for software consultancy as it is easier for them to understand rather than try and explain what SEO is
    Best regards

    Information is out on thepaypalblog.
IEC is different from export code. I admit my mistake previously in this thread.

    The Article Says

"Please note that according to Indian law, based on the value of withdrawal and the purpose code in your declaration, your bank may require you to provide documentary proofs such as invoices / goods receipt forms as applicable to reconcile with your withdrawal."

What documents will bank ask from a Freelance Journalist does anyone has any idea.

Also I want to know that I am a content Writer, I write articles for websites. Is "Code P0805" is the right one for me.

Exactly, P0805 is right for you. You can take print of paypal payment, that will work as your invoice.

    Visit https://www.thepaypalblog.com/
Fill up the appropriate code while withdrawing and keep all records ready so that if your bank ask for them, you can show.

    Good news from Paypal..

I think that the codes provided are enough for most of us (for me, they are..)

It took 30 days to sort out the problem, but thanks to Paypal for the happy ending..

I don't think banks will go asking for proofs of 20-50k.. if the withdrawal goes upto 1lac or more that's when they'd probably have to ask for details.... I don't think that is something to worry about.

I feel P0802 might be good for you. However, you can double check to confirm.
