I have unverified paypal account and today i received a payment of $10 from one of my client. But paypal charged me
for receiving that money and i got $9.31. Why it is so?

No, I am not new with paypal. Many times i receive a payment from others but never got charged for receiving.
    What's going on??

I have personal account and told to my client to send the payment via selecting services option as a problem going on here in india.
But this time i got charged, i don't now.. Why???

Now paypal has changed its fees system for india. It will charge you something 3.4%+0.30$ not sure so just check the fees section in ur paypal a/c. And this goes for personal a/c also i think.

this is because every time you got the payment via personal mode and this time you got with services...

i am sure that you are getting first payment after the paypal reversing issue.

No its not because of services. Its because paypal is charging fees for receiving payments.

If paypal is charging fees for receiving payments, just like for USA/UK, then it should even give premium services like for those countries, Payal Plus credit card, no withdrawl fees, even below Rs 7000, free CC transfers and so on. Paypal is so differentiating while providing the sops, but does not while charging us. Guess, we have to bear the brunt... till we have some strong Payment gateway... It's similar to Microsoft's monopoly in Operating systems

Just a thought... did you guys...get your reversed payments from your clients... I mean what if the clients denied to pay you like in my case...Paypal really pulled a fast one on this one though...

I would be surprised if this is the first time you are paying any fees to Paypal!
We have been paying so... since a long time! :(

It appears that RBI's intervention seems to have benefited Paypal indirectly... as lot many personal transactions would now take place under services!
