As for any other Google Application nothing so bad is heard about analytic stats as yet. In that case we believe that it is accurate. Yes.
Google Analytics is quite accurate. But there's also some minor problem like javascript disabled browser will not trigger Google Analytics. And things like that...
It's because, awstats and Google Analytics uses different method in getting data. Awstats measures the traffic from the server by logging all transactions. While Google Analytics will only be triggered using Web Browser and the script being triggered and ran with Javascript. Also, Google Analytics is page tagging. There will only be data received when a page is opened with a web browser.
It's accurate but it's not real time. It's about 2-24 hours before you can see your website's traffic.
to be very frank i dont believe in GA coz its not the exact data...for eg if u compare with other tools the data wud be different so there must be some problem with GA or other tools...dont know the mistery
Well most accurate number are given by AWstat because it captures a visit from the webserver where you hosting.. GA works with javascript and will fail to recognise a user if he is using JAVA disabled browser..
My husband turns google analytics off. He thinks quite a few people do that, but I am not sure many know how. But in any case, I do know GA misses those folks.
NO it is not accurate, but it is relevant, Awstats is more relevant. Awstats gets your stats from the server ( as mentioned before) Google Analytics codes are at the bottom of the page (so if the page does not completely load or someone switches pages before it loads, then it will not count). I personally look at it that if I get 2300 visitors today and 2400 tomorrow, I got more. So I think relevance is more important that being accurate. Cheers, Mukul
My expirience is that google analytics shows few % less (pages viewed, unique visitors...) than "server based" statistic, but still as mentioned in the post above if you have 2300 on Monday and 2400 visitors on Tuesday, than you probably really had 5% more people on Tuesday
For GA to work an additional network call has to be made. There are all sorts of problems that can arise from third party tracking. It works well for giving you an idea of bounce rates and installed software but for seeing how many uniques you get nothing can ever compete with server logs.
AWStats is best to use -- it is server-side reporting and perfectly accurate -- GA is third-party tracking and doesn't give all full details
I use Woopra on my site, and is more accurate than analytic. Woopra is a real time program and each time I go on my site, woopra counts me as a new visitor, is very accurate.
that it is doing it job. you will get all the information and toll that you need to analyze your web. i say IS to analytics
