Hey guys, just wandering, what is a bounce rate? Also what percentage is good? I have 2.23%. Is that good? Sorry for my stupid questions!
2.23% is not realistic. 30% is good. Maybe you are the only visitor, in which case 2.23% is understandable.
hehe, your point sounds realistic. bounce rate isn't perfect measure to judge a site, boz bounce rate only decreases when your user surfs other pages. What if he finds desired content on the page where he landed and then exited from there.??
Well it's not me. I don't go on my site often. What has been happening i have like 10 articles. My most popular has 3000hits which is the only one i advertise. my second one has 1000hits, and all the referral links has been from my most popular article. make sense?
don't pay too much attention to bounce rates... it's very hard to measure, and many elements can effect it, as mentioned above the amount of pages contributes but if the user finds the information they are after they usually leave your site... code example sites suffer the worst bounce rates. 40-50% can be classed as good, if your bounce rate is at 90% then maybe worry and do further research but if it's a minimal rate forget about even monitoring it.
it would be considered amazing.. but i think there is something wrong with your tracker. why are you interested in bounce rate?
< 10% is great! it means the traffic you acquired is highly targeted... now work on your conversion and you will be all set! bounce-rate indicates the quality of the traffic.. that is all
Hi, Bounce rate is how much time visitor stay at your website what was their activity. If user stay and found some informative then your site get good bounce rate and good reputation in google eyes.
Hey guys. Analytics has been updated. I have dropped from 10% to 8%. I got 1000 unique visitors today. Good to see I am going good. Now need to convert these people into forum posters
Actually it all depends on the content you have. Even 90% can be good if you don't provide much content to read (for instance if you provide downloadable executables, which will ruin your bounce rate as GA does't count 'em). However for a text-rich website 20-30% is an average. Well, actually it is a common specualtion that Google counts and considers the bounce rate of a site as one more ranking factor. Matt Cutts refutes this, though
