heck man, go to Barnes and Nobles and pick up one of the photoshop classes in a box books. Those things are great. what amazes me though is the lack of stuff Adobe puts in their user manuals.

Find something that looks cool and do that tutorial. If you run into a problem with the tutorial either ask here on DP or search Google. One thing I have learned is NOT to buy books, I've learned so much (for free) from the web, and it's fun too!
