As I was approving the submitted websites for my directory, I previewed one site just to make sure it fit it's written description. What I saw not only shocked me, but it flat out pissed me off. http://www.dejacey.com/ I mean, do I need to explain why? Check it out, we've reached a new low. First we'll degrade women enough to view them less than men, we'll treat them like crap sometimes, we'll view them as sexual objects. But hey, may as well go another level down and use them as an Adsense click incentive, right?
Dude, don't wanna burst your bubble, but 90% of ALL the DP'ers who uses this image-next-to-ads technique uses pictures of half-naked women next to their ads. (Mind you, I myself don't use this technique...)
i bet he gets a much higher amount of clicks with those pics. Those pics got me looking at them for at least a few seconds. That right there is guaranteed to improve clicks.
Hahaha funny placement, the "bottom" right picture, simply of a, um, bottom, had the ad underneath displaying "Protect your privacy" as the title, and then "Protect yourself and browse anonymously"!! Bizzare message after I computed what it was talking about!!
OP: Keep in mind not everyone subscribes to your moral code. If it increases profits I see nothing wrong with it.
You're absolutely right. Let's say, God forbidding, one of your family members gets brutally murdered tonight. Make sure you don't get too angry with the murderer, because hey, he has a different moral code than you and it makes him feel good. I'm not basing this thread off of my moral standards alone... But my point is that many people's standard is obscure and twisted. Hence why the world is where it is. lol I'm just asking for a flame aren't I I'm seriously not trying to start a debate (although it already has begun). But I really think that something should be done about image next to text ads in this case because the images are completely irrelevant, obscene, and borderline pornographic.
