So I am purely working on CB products to start with but still not having a lot of joy. I have gone the route of ppc, blogs, articles, videos etc (although I know I need to keep going and do more) but have also seen a lot of you talking about landing pages. So I have a few questions: How does your landing page differ from that of the vendor Do you buy a new url for every product you are promoting? Is your landing page just a kind of 'how great this product is' page? Why would you bother with a landing page if the vendor page is good anyway? How do you then promote your landing page?! I am thinking of starting up a kind of hub website to give info on and promote my clickbank products - would that be a way to go do you think?
Your blogs on AM and Golf would be considered landing pages of sorts, but instead of making them like real blogs like these you would keep them to a review format / give a quick pre-sell / recommend the product and make the whole site really focused on one route - giving a little info then getting the visitor to click through to the vendor. Many use landing pages rather than sending traffic direct to the vendor page, it is considered a better way to do thing to improve your conversion rate - just adding that little extra review / recommendation from an external source does seem to help. You hub idea can and does work, it is more a matter of preference whether you setup sites specifically for one niche / product, or a whole wider area like this hub idea - both work, it just depends on the size of the niche, how much work you want to do, the strength of other products you could promote and so on. Here are a few people who have successful hubs: http://dp-db.com/ http://successful-hypnosis.com/ http://r.ecommended.com And to see successful 1 page websites / landing pages then just type the name of any popular clickbank product into google along with review - i.e. "clickbank product name review" and you will see some decent landers both in natural search and in the PPC listings for most.
Thanks submp3s that is really useful. I was afraid that I would not get a great response as I know people want to protect how they make money and I can understand that but that really gives me some help in what I should do. I think I am going to set up the hub, I have an idea as to how I can promote it for a number of different types of products. i must say some of the products home pages on clickbank are just dire - what's with all the yellow highlighting stuff?! Maybe I can make something better on a good looking product that has a bad product page. Thanks again
Well yes people are protective and often wont go into detail about what is working for them, but you can easily find who is successful in your niche by just typing in product names into google and see who comes up, take from their ideas what you think will work for you too, or combine best elements from a few different people, add your own unique content and ideas and you are off to a good start - the whole affiliate marketing business is quite open like this - oh, I should point out that those sites above are nothing to do with me With regards to bad sales pages - for now don't worry about making your own sales page instead, just learn the basics of setting up a minisite / blog and learn to drive traffic to yourself, build backlinks etc - for now if you see a sales page you don't like the look of then simply DON'T PROMOTE IT
Ok to answer your questions: How does the landing page differ from the vendors? It all depends! Normally what I do is set up a landing page that is a sort of soft sell - mildly promoting the product while giving a review and of course collecting emails for a free report so you can stay in contact with prospects. Try to make the page look interesting - use pictures of the product that you are promoting and a genuine review is also better, ask yourself why would you buy the product? Do you buy a new URL for each product? No, normally when I am testing out a product or niche I may well use free services like squidoo, hubpages or blogger - if I get some sales I will ten consider expanding and setting up a Wordpress blog or proper review site. Is your landing page just a kind of how great this product is? No, in fact it is better if you do not do this and leave a good honest soft sell or review. Why would you bother setting up a landing page? You don't need too, no, but it really does improve conversions if you set up a good landing page. It is all about confirming what problems the product will solve and whether it does indeed do the job! How do you promote your landing page? This is a huge question! Anyway you can! Articles, PPC, Twitter, Squidoo, Hubpages, backlinks, SEO etc... work, work and more work! I hope this helps you!
