What is Next to Google Adsense?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by HZ-WebSol, Feb 26, 2010.

    Hi,

No doubt, Google Adsense has dominated the Internet Advertising. But is there any other advertisement placement that could compete with Google Adsense in future.

Secondly, how secure is Adsense as a long term business model for the small publishers?

    Regards
    HZ

The upcoming Microsoft/Yahoo deal could create some massive competition to Google Adsense.

Well today it seems that no one can handle up with Google Adsense. But maybe Bing can do it in the future? I am not a fortune teller so I cannot be sure

The only valid alternative to Adsense is affiliate programs. The other ad networks do not come close. Chitika is OK, but nowhere near as good as Adsense.

Is it a good business model? Not at all! They ban people for no reason and give you no explanation. Adsense is great to make some extra money, but if your whole business depends on it you are playing with fire.

Chitika isn't too bad.. in fact the other day I saw Adsense ad which wasn't based on site subject, but on my earlier search query - looks like Google is borrowing idea from Chitika :)

Yeah... Microsoft and Yahoo haven't been doing that good by themselves - I am not sure they will do much better together.

Bing is a nice search engine though and Yahoo made a good decision using it.
They probably could have done even better re-licensing Google search.. but then we'd have monopoly.

I dont think anyone is a close second. Those are the Adsense alternatives. People sign up for those after termination of Adsense account.

Guess that means I'm playing with fire!

So are a few other people I know

If disaster strikes, it's easy enough to swap out google code for something else - at least the sites are there, which they wouldn't be if it wasn't for adsense - as it would not have been worth while sitebuilding and promoting without a ready and hands-off source of income
