Anyone have formal education in business? Just curious to see how many people on DP have a MBA.

I'm thinking about getting one later in my career.

Yes it is. I've been searching for a while to find something that interests me and finally decided to go with an MBA in internet marketing. full sail university offers it via online classes and on campus. Since I live closer I will be attending classes.
You can find more details about the program and areas of studies here:

I've had basically four careers (or mini-careers):

    • U.S. Air Force officer
    • FAA radar air traffic controller
    • Bible college dean (and faculty)
    • Pastored two churches

I'm retired now, and webmastering (non-profit, sig link #2) is keeping me busy.

A friend of mine runs a drain cleaning company near Kansas City. One of his employees has an MBA. He can't find a job that will make him any more money. He was laid off of one job and couldn't get another in a field related to his degree. His only two job offers were to be a police officer or a drain cleaner. Since he'd make more money cleaning sewers he went that direction.

My friend that owns the company barely finished high school. Ouch. :D

I'm still thinking of taking my MBA. Still not sure. Might take a lot of time from my beloved online business. :D To people who took their MBA, what made you do it?

It's impressive to see so many people here with MBAs. I've a BSc in Management and Marketing myself, might consider doing an MBA at some stage in the future.

business adminstration is one of popular major in USA , if someone want to study in this major i make a suggestion to study for getting last degree MBA because it's useful for future , it doesn't difference be online or academic , both of them are good

The great asset of MBA is that you can work in any field afterwards.

MBA is okay if you plan to work for someone. There are two kinds of programs. Case study, and book learning with a little case study. Either way, expect to write a lot more papers than you did in undergrad. MBA programs run from one year of full time to year and a half full time.

If you are an entrepreneur, then an MBA is window dressing and perhaps a waste of time. It may not be worth a bowl full of Cheerios because you aren't employable.
