Hello, I just recently started a blog with basic entertainment stories, etc. Does anyone have any tips on how to get traffic to new sites?
I agree. If your content is unique and useful then you won't have to market it, people will spontaneously come to you

For traffic, promote your site. *Do free directories submission *Article submission *Forum Postings *Blog Commenting *Social Bookmarking * Press release * RSS Feed Submission Join social networking sites. create a groups and invite peoples to join your group. post your link to your group and discuss with your topics. Share your articles and links.
Put a social bookmarking button on your blog or website and submit your new articles. Urge your site visitors to do the same (bribing is good!) sites like propeller and digg help you to add a news quality to your articles. But fresh content will get Google on your site and they will give you more great exposure, if you put at least one little AdSense ad on your site. I do NOT mean just make a site stuffed with ads, just one ot two. Of course there are many more ways, but that'D be a whole course you would have to take It took me years to learn, and it's not possible to share it all in one post... There were some effective answeres posted here... just pick some and "actionize" them!
blog commenting and forum commenting make sure they are do follow and related if posiable to your sight gets you better traffic and quality backlinks which will get you higher in serps. Do it manually never pay for them they never get approved least was my expierence and stick with it because it dont happen over night. Also never pay for traffic it never converts.
