What is Spam Indexing

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what is spam indexing? I just get this question from someone and was unable to respond about what exactly it is? Correct me if I am wrong, but does it mean "irrelevant link building techniques" or "getting links from unrelated sites/directories/blogs"???

I would assume it means sending your link out to thousands of spam like sites, in hopes that google will crawl the link, then crawl your site and index it quickly.

 

Amazing that Wikipedia said article spinning is one of the ingrediants
