Do you ever get sick and tired of this internet thing?

Exactly what the title states: Do you ever get sick and tired of this internet thing? You have to work harder to stay in the same place nowadays and to increase your revenue you have to work such long hours. Then you see people offering to do what you do for 5 cents. Do you ever think of jacking it all in?

 

sometimes its easy to get dissolusioned especially when you see people undercutting services for nothing, but most of the time cheap means poor quality not always there are some bargains to be had on here ive had some amazing logos done for cheap etc but generally it means poor quality ive had people who cant even finish jobs.

once the money starts rolling in its easier not to feel like jacking it in also

 

The money is rolling in - most days. Despite the under cutters I've got some good clients who wouldn't waste their time buying content a 5 year old could write. What really does my head in is surfers want to read about cr*p which has forced me to write about cr*p for them. I think I'm going to turn down jobs which involve writing about brain dead celebrities and their latest fads. Actually, I think I'm going to go on holiday - at least I can do that and still be making some money... perhaps things aren't that bad after all...

I never said I want to give it all up when I'm sleeping or doing anything else but sitting in front of my computer.

Fire, the wheel, sails and agriculture spring to mind. Some might add medicine and birth control but don't allow me to "pee on your chips" as we say in these parts and mean "ruin your party".

A distribution of wealth, internet access, PCs, laptops and broadband might level the playing field. The invention was very elitist in its early days and still favour the developed countries and those with considerable disposable income. I suspect that will have ruined your chips...

 

Being on the internet is easy but remaining on it for a long while is really tough and it does not come easily for many... especially those that prefer to socialize a lot... offline!

For the rest, it comes very easy and I am one of them. I never get bored on the net!

I am trying to strike a balance between my online work with offline activities and with the latter demanding more time, I am no longer online for prolonged hours...

I never really get tired of the Internet. It brings in a large amount of revenue for me.

 

I've never really gotten tired of the internet, despite spending lots and lots of time on it. If anything, I need to get out more and not spend so much time on the computer! For the posters who were talking about being undercut, you need to think out of the box and position yourself as a premium service provider, AND you don't have to keep being a service provider forever - don't you have any ambition at all?? Build a list, create your own products, build up blogs and monetize them....there is so much to do out there besides just providing services for low bargain-basement prices!

 

I was asking if anyone gets p****d off with the internet not for advice. Your quip "don't you have any ambition at all??" was not called for and very arrogant. Where do you get off assuming people haven't got more monetised blogs than you? I wouldn't sell any content (a part time job anyway) to anyone for less than £1 a word so don't think I'm bargain basement either. My articles with a revenue share of 50% make £100 year after year - you could learn a thing or two from me bud.

That said, this uncalled for, off topic reply and the cliches it contains "think outside the box" is another reason I get put off so thanks for sharing bud

I can't get tired of the Internet because it's like air for me - I can't imagine modern world without it!

 

I personally never get tired of the internet. I have a full life and it's a part of it that I actually love, especially the learning and making parts.

 

Sometimes internet make me boring and lonely, but it's still the best job in the world because no one told me what to do, and I can take a break whenever I want.

 

Sometimes it can be VERY frustrating if you haven't got to where you want to be ! but ... On the other side of frustration lies success ! and your success will be worth the battle
