I see so many people selling links and also read a lot of stuff about how a site will be penalized if Google 'finds out' that you are buying links. My question is: If say, I was to send someone $20 for a few links and pay via paypal or some other method, how on earth will Google know that the link was purchased? I have not purchased links myself because I am trying to do things 'naturally' but obviously masses of folks are indeed buying links on a regular basis. Maybe my competitors will have the edge and are not getting penalized-I don't know. Just wondering about this whole deal.
in our high tech world it is possible to find out what sites are selling links and thus indirectly possible to find out who has paid links focus on honesty, quality all the way and you will outperform and outlast all your competitors while still being able to look into your mirror every morning something cheaters NEVER can do unless drunk or stoned!!! quality all the way and uniqueness is the lasting key to web publisher's success !
I would think it would be hard to track all links that are sold but maybe Google keeps tabs on the larger sites that sells links. DP would surly be a larger site, 200 Alexa rank.
We can know about paid links because we can see feature links section in websites. Search engine algorithm know how to analyze data and give particular category to them.
Mr. G is not doing anything with your account but they know who are selling links like from there websites etc..
You should only pay for links if it's worth being on th esite you are paying for. Don't just buy links to get more backlinks. If i was given a choice to buy a link on bbc.co.uk then i would regardless of what Google thinks.
I think the same question was asked on Matt Cutt's blog and he told that all external links should be made no-follow as this is best way to tell Google that you haven't sold this link and the link is only for informative purpose.
If everybody did that and Google didn't attribute value to nofollowed links then their search engine would end up useless because it would cripple the very method Google uses to judge the relevancy of websites. Would make more sense to only nofollow sold links, so google knew that they'd been bought and to ignore them. But then very few people would want to buy your links, so I don't see that concept being adopted en mass. Of course, this is one of those instances where Google is asking the entire internet to follow their idealistic rules. Some people take their requests as gospel but in reality, some people are going to ignore them because they aren't legally obligated to obey them and there's an advantage to be gained by ignoring them. As such, if your competitor is ignoring them then it's folly to obey them because you will loose your competitive edge. They probably have some algorithms that guess if a site is selling links but obviously have no way of actually verifying for certain. The algorithms might get smarter over time but currently it looks like they can't identify the majority of sold links, so it's still a sensible method of building IBLs.
Put some logic in this people. Does google have access to your financial records? How many of you sell your forum sigs? Even here? Has that hurt DP? Sometimes I think people assume google has a spy in their homes, offices, etc. Or even cares. I sell links on my sites all the time. And I never put "nofollow." And why on earth do you think I am offered money for a link? Quality links are quality links, bought or free. Stephen C
If you hire someone to write articles and do article submission, that is perfectly ok. Even blog commenting by human is ok. As long as you dont use automated methods, it is generally ok to pay for links.
Except sponsored blog posts actually are illegal in the US, unless the blogger clearly states that the blog post is a paid advertisement.
if any one report to google..........for paid links then it analyze all the factor of link building and then decide its a paid or free...............
