I though this was important for those of you who doesn't know. So before you go out and sell your used cellphones for the extra cash, think of this below. Selling an old wireless phone might seem like a good idea to make some extra cash , but it can be like selling your personal information on eBay. Security analyst found 27,000 pages of documents on 10 phones they bought online including details of a multi million dollar contract bid , bank account passwords and secret notes between a married man and his girlfriend. Selling your phone once you get a fancier one is basically like handing out your personal information to a random person. All sorts of sensitive information pile up inside our cell phones , and deleting all that may be more difficult than you think. So when selling your cell phones keep this in mind , because it just may lead you identity theft and much more. [via website]
Thanks for the tip, although i've had the same phone for a year, being my first (got it for my 14th birthday) and when i buy a new one i'll probably just end up losing this one or throwing it away, or something like that. But that can't really be good either?
erm, have you guys heard of the "delete"-function for your contacts, messages and emails in your mobile? most modern phones (1990 models and later) support this feature. do you throw your notebook away because there is still some private stuff on your harddisk? rtfm!
Yea everybody should wipe out all personal data on the phone before selling it. Some people are just stupid that they don't bother thinking about deleting those and their data gets read by the buyer.
