It's alright, this was in France where the full burqa will soon be banned :)

If you can't wear a motorcycle helmet in a bank you definitely shouldn't be able to wear a full veil.

I'll have to agree and I believe that the followers of the religion would understand that their burqa is being misused and would at least consider revealing their face in the banks...

Kind of part of their religion, they really don't care for banks rules when it comes to their religion. Essentially anyone who refuses to take it off should just use online banking :D

Wouldn't surprise me at all if they weren't even Muslim. The kind of people who would rob a bank wouldn't hesitate to use any "costume" that made it easier to get away scot free.

Then again, how funny would it be if they were actually burka wearing women with a poor grasp on banking ettiquette!

After reading about the bearded lady with a burka, I think it's probably a good idea to allow them to keep their burkas;) Now we know why they wear burkas.

I hope France makes wearing burkas illegal and the rest of the civilized world follows suit. We just need someone to lead the way. France would be a good starter upper. Let's hope Canada follows quickly

I think banning a type of clothes is not a good idea and against freedom in general. Some people need to wear specific clothes for religious reasons and no matter where: banks, libraries, etc.. and i think we should respect that.
sadly with all what's going on on, everybody thinks that banning those clothes are a great idea. covering up is not only in Islam, it's in many religions and the wisdom behind it is : respect
France is only opening the door of hell by practicing such ban and will not work. why? simply and mathematically the Muslim community is the fastest growing community in France and Europe in general, it's only matter of time before the majority will be Muslims then that ban will be history anyway.
The bottom line is: Clothes got nothing to do with anything. everybody is free to wear what he/she desires and other issues like the robbery, terror should be dealt with accordingly.

Govt should allow to wear burqas but have to promise that there will be no crime held in the city. If it promises than no one has problem if women wear it, but more and more crime are taking place so it should be removed of for safety purpose. Even schools also some girls use to wear it not for religious purpose but for copying it, I am telling this coz I have noticed it.

It reminds me of this funny little quote:

In 1784, Congress authorized American diplomats John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson to negotiate with the Muslim terrorists. Negotiations proceeded, and in 1786, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson candidly asked the Ambassador from Tripoli the motivation behind their unprovoked attacks against Americans. What was the response?

The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the laws of their Prophet [Mohammed] – that it was written in their Koran that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners; that is was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners; and that every Musselman [Muslim] who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.
