Im looking for new different and inspiring ways to advertise a product of mine that im hoping will make it big. If this product does really well i will then almost certainly create a follow on product and make a brand or something. All ideas will be welcome

You really need to give people somethign to go on - make a tighter niche. anti-aging? weight loss? vitamins? helping cope with pain?

Who is your target market? Online buyers?

Know first who your target market and from there, you can start collating ideas on how you could promote your product.

Other questions that you should answer so that you could draft a feasible and effective marketing strategies:

    1. How much is your marketing budget?
    2. What appeal you would like to project: appeal to the masses or appeal to the elite few?

How about adding a bonus gift for purchasing today? Premiums have been used for a long time to increase response and some of the better ones offer shared fulfillment that keeps the cost down by delivering the premium after the consumers commits to purchasing your product.

if you'd like to get advertising suggestions, you have to specify at least what your product is going to cure. I hope it's not a sex related drug.

Lynxtouch, you do not need to reveal the product. It is irrelevant.

The only true ways to get the word out are: Advertising (placing your ads in sites its visitors may click on), word of mouth, and, even though this is not all that great...article writing.

The main thing you need to focus on is great advertising (buying traffic).

    how is it irrelevent?

target market, for example, dictates a lot of what you need to focus your marketing on. Facebook is of little use for 50's target market for example, whilst 'traditional' advertising liek magazine adverts might work better

and that is just a basic example

    Oh boy.

He does not need to give out the name of the product.

    Jesus.

Lynxtouch, do research on advertising. Get good at it!

indeed, which is why i asked for a tighter niche. an anti-aging product aimed at 50 somethings is very different to an energy product for 20 somethings, but you feel that knowing details like that are irrelevant and you can give specific marketing advice based on it being a 'health product'?

All you can give are generalities that tbh you will find in far more depth inside a 2 min google hunt

    And he knows this already.

Besides, advertising, say, in a health site, or magazine, hits all groups, so....

meaning you could well be paying extra money to target groups that you dont want to hit, whilst choosing a magazine with a specific audience would be far more financially worthwhile.

This is the entire concept behind the rise in internet marketing budgets for large companies - they can laser target campaigns to different audiences, they know who they want to target and where. Even more for those with small budgets making sure that your product is seem by those who you want it to, and not paying for 'impressions' on those that are unlikely to buy is important.

    so....

Name some, GOOD, websites and offline magazines that charge extra to target groups.

Show where such a site, like, say, menshealth charges extra.

If it is a health product for women, show where, say, iVillage (a good site to advertise ANY woman's health product on) charges extra.
