Question for Those That Use Articles Base as Main Directory

I figured I would put this in the Clickbank section since a lot of people here seem to use AB for their main directory over EZA.

Anyway, I recently started primarily using Articles Base myself as my main directory and I was just wondering if those of you that do the same also submit your article to EZA just for the purpose of a backlink to your AB article?

I stopped using EZA as my primary directory because of their long approval, crappy support, and declining articles for almost any reason. But I know that they do still provide good link juice and that's also the main directory people use when syndicating articles so I would like to still use them for that reason if possible.

So, does EZA accept articles that have been posted to another directory already? I know they will take an article that has been posted on your own site but I haven't heard much about if they take them once they are on another directory.

If they do, how many of you that focus on AB use this strategy?

Yes. EZA will accept articles as long as YOU have written them.

Well, I posted on article under a different pen name on AB first. Then when I tried to post it on EZA under my original name, they rejected it. Earlier one of my article did get accept even when it was on AB under a different pen name but now they are not being accepted.

Yes, the requirement is that it has to be under the same name if they can look and find the content already published.

FYI - I stopped posting to Base so much when I discovered their links were NOfollow, I prefer EZA still, but also use GoArticles and ArticleDashboard a litte - as well as other SEO services.

Yeah they are no-follow, but I don't use AB for the links so much. I like them because they rank well in Google and approve my articles instantly. I use other do-follow directories and web 2.0 sites to build links to my AB articles.

I would always recommend developing your own master article site - a blog essentially; rather than having your master post on Base, it is on your own site, then at least all the backlinking work you did would benefit you directly - yes it is harder in the beginning, but a couple of months down the line you will get PR1-2 and your site will get regular traffic, and your articles will rank easier themselves too.

Things changed a lot for me once I started doing this - article marketing is more about backlinks or just getting a bit of a flood of extra traffic for testing for me now rather than relying on it for everyday traffic and sales directly.

Yeah I know what you mean and I do agree.

I'm actually starting to build up my own sites now, but the reason I do build up my articles as well is because they are supposed to rank faster and easier and bring in more immediate sales.

I wanted to develop an income with the articles that would remain steady before I started focusing all my time on my own sites because like you said, those could take months to start bringin in sales.

I've redone my strategy a little bit though and I am starting work on 3 new sites today that are my own, but I still want to finish getting all my current articles ranked well so they can bring in more sales.
