Hi friends. I know of this keyword, which is going to boom in a few months. but i find that the reverse is available. It is a two part word, something like 3d. Should i consider buying 'd3' if available? Will google and yahoo rank me if the domain search phrases are jumbled? (not reversed but jumbled words as a whole). Eg: can 'good games' search on a search engine lead to gamesgood.com ?? Please help and give your suggestions. Regards.
You can still rank for the keyword no matter what the url is. However if you have the Exact Domain name as the keyword then you have a slight advantage.
see if you site name this time goodgames.com and you want to change in gamesgood.com so first you 301 redirect all pages on this domain second one is put same content, linking and other SEO factor put same in new domain so 1 or 2month i think you get problem but after that you got all result back
friend, what i meant was that, i dont own goodgames.com but i want to target that keywword, should i concider buying gamesgood.com ???
The advantage you get for keywords in a domain is slim to none. Your domain does not matter. Domains don't get ranked, websites do. Choose the shortest, coolest name and go with it. Take a cue from miniclip.com, pogo.com, popcap.com, etc. Notice how they are just chock full of keywords? But they are some of the biggest game sites. I won't even mention candystand.com Another huge game site, nothing about candy about it. Now if you just mean computer games, what are some other big sites? cgonline.com, ign.com, etc. Top game sites, no keywords. Take a tip from the big boys. They pick cool names, not keyword driven. You are completely mistaken as to how google ranks sites. If it were only that easy... Stephen C
well i don't know about you guiys, but i build niche websites.and if i have a website with the keyword in its URL, i only have to digg it to get on google's 2nd page. of course with under 50.000 competition and to answer your question, google makes a difference between goodgames.com and gamesgood.com when someone will type good games, it will show your domain. but the competition (gamesgood.com) optimizes the website for good games too, it will possibly outrank you if you depend only on your URL hope this helps
Your missing the point. Having the keyword your are targeting in your domain is a significant on-page optimization factor Google uses (along with 200+ other factors) to determine your placement in a SERP. In my estimation, it's one of the top 20 on-page factors. And yes, having the domain 'gamesgood.com' will help you some if you are targeting the key phrase 'good games', it's not going to guarantee you ranking,s
You guys are totally wrong. Domain names have a huge impact on SERPs. You know why? I've proven it. Awhile back (2 months-ish) I had a blog with "anarchy" in the domain name. It was empty, and all I did was put some of that filler content in it (just random topics, nothing anarchy related). I used it as like a demo site previewing different themes and plugins before I'd use them with something else, but it ended up ranking on page 2 of Google for anarchy. Someone told me it was because wordpress automatically pings when you use it. It isn't to say that an off domain name can still rank well, but it should definitely be considered especially for a niche blog/site. As for the order of the words, I have no idea. I would just find a different keyword.
Umm, some of you suggest yes, and some suggest no. Then, can i use 'free-3d-games.com' for a search phrase like 'free 3d games'??? (and yes, i know there are a million other factors, but right now, i'm learning about this factor. don't worry i'm not gonna leave my website at this only. ) Regards
difference is minor.. yes sure you can use 'free-3d-games.com' for a search phrase like 'free 3d games' and you have a good one for it if that is what you are after... good keywords in domain gives you a good start in SEO.. it goes a long way and it will give you free search traffic
I would suggest avoiding the hyphenated keyword in the domain so as like free-3d-games.com etc. Instead, gamesgood.com itself is good, The order of the keywords doesnt matter if you have relevant content you can rank well for the keyword phrase even though it is jumbled.
Hi Traffic-Bug/webbmaster, Thanks for your suggestion. The actual keyword is not spaced. it is something like 3d, which people search as '3d' it self and not '3 d' , so can i buy d3.com if it is available? (You people are really helpful.... Three cheers for all at DPians). And a final question for everybody else. I've heard, that Word-press automatically pings your latest activities to search engines. Is it true? And if yes, does Joomla do the same? Please help.
