I want to purchase a 64 bit Windows 7 OS. However, my computer is a 32 bit processor. So, my question is can I run a 64 bit OS on a 32 bit processor machine?
Hey! If you have a 32bit processor you may only run 32bit and not 64, however with a 64bit processor you can run both! However its always nice to check to make sure you cant upgrade to 64bit by looking in at your system in control panel!
Lol why is this in Search Engines? Anyways yeah, 64-bit and 32-bit are processor architectures, so you can't run 64-bit software without the matching hardware.
64 bit will be better for you, however it's not essential. I know there's still not enough software that is purely 64 bit, so there's not enough to entice me to head over to 64 bit right now
32Bit....all programs use 32 bit memory 64 use 64 bit in short if u have one gb ram 32 bit will use only 512 Mb where as 64 bit will use full one GB
np we can run 64Bit in 32bit but the thing is we may not get the exact results..! but we can run for better results better to go for 64bit processor
Probably not mate, as 32 bit wont work in 64 bit, try to upgrade your processor to 64 bit, then you can run.
You have got to be kidding me? 64 bit operating systems were developed for servers, not desktop gaming systems. There was a 64bit Linux server operating system YEARS before microsoft. Just about all web servers run 64 bit operating systems - especially Linux, and have done so for years. --------------------- texanweb - if you installed 64 bit windows 7, it will only run in 32 bit mode - if it runs at all. If you want the full power of the 64 bit system, upgrade your computer to a 64 bit CPU.
He cannot install it ~kev~ because setup will point out that the architecture is 32 bit and setup will quit.
No way! You can't install 64 bit Windows OS with 32 bit processor. Please upgrade your computer to a 64 bit CPU or install 32 bit Windows OS.
If you have drivers and hardware compatible with 64-bit OS, then I'd say go for it - this is the future.
