Hey guys, I am relatively new to SEO so bear with my n00bishness I recently started a squidoo lense promoting a clickbank product. I have built a ton of backlinks by blog commenting and my site is now showing 52 backlinks in yahoo. Despite my huge increase in backlinks, my google ranking hasn't increased at all from what it was when my site originally got indexed. Anybody know whats going on here? Thank you for your help
If you get negative feedback, then start fresh with other lens. Hope you can achieve the target through that lens.
In another thread, i saw a member saying that certain articles rank just because of luck and we can't really do anything to rank an article well. This is not the case. I have seen people submitting hundreds of articles / comments for an article and still finding it low in SERPS or even disappearing from Google. The solution is "Deeper Links".
ugh... My lens is now showing 220 backlinks in yahoo and still no ranking increase. @J1218: how long does it usually take for these rankings to update? @auburnfan23: I've been working on this lens since last Thursday and I have been pinging with pingler @markov: how long should I wait before I start over? @jacky8: what exactly do you mean by "Deeper Links" Again thank you all for your help
Are your sure those back links from the blogs are dofollow? Plus are you commenting on blogs related to your site and are they credible blogs?
squidoo lens don't rank high as they used to do its tough now as there are lots of spam lens on squidoo and thus has lots its authority try HubPages they are better and rank high on long tail keywords too
Also keep updating ALL the sources that you are writing on, use anchor links back and forth etc... This will help it get noticed! Chris
I have found this recently, I did use to find it quite easy to get squidoo lenses noticed, they must have changed the set up recently.
I don't think its a set amount of time, it could vary for a number of reasons. You did say that you've only been working on it since last Thursday so that's not very long at all. Give it some time and keep building links naturally and it should hopefully move up.
I have noticed that is takes google a long time to find squidoo stuff. Use articles to point to the squdoo article. That will spead up the process.
There is some good advice here. Another thing you can try is using longer keyword phrases. They tend to have lower competition, so you rank more easily.
