I am currently buying expired domain names via SnapNames are there some better alternatives. Regards,
Hi San, I buy all my backordering via www.pool.com. Most of the names i go after they are successful in getting them for me or it goes to a 3 day bid war with others also after it. Hope that helps.
I received this reply by mcfox to my query which might be of interest. Quote: Originally Posted by Smyrl Suppose you want to acquire an inactive domain name registered through Godaddy. The place you really need to go is www.tdnam.com, which is where the GoDaddy expiring domains drop. You will see from that site there is an auction system in place, kinda like eBay. You might pick up an expiring domain for $10 (+ reg fee) or it might cost you $100 - $1000+ if you have competition for the name. When you use the GoDaddy back ordering service, all you are effectively doing is placing a bid with TDNAM.com - I can't remember if it's $10 or $20. Should someone else bid higher than that, you lose the domain unless you are watching it through tdnam and are registered, etc. and can place a bid. Then you have the 'period of grace' afforded to the current domain owners to redeem their domains from the drop, which means you have to wait 6 weeks after you pay up. If the domain owner redeems their domain, then you get a refund but you also kiss goodbye to the domain (They say 2 weeks but that's only for domains that are "unlikely" to be renewed) __________________
Domains expiring from some registrars go to some backordering services (Network Solutions to SnapNames is an example). For domains expiring from registrars that aren't tied to a service like this, the best thing to do in my experience is to place a backorder with all of the major services, increasing your chance of being successful (or being able to bid in the successful auction).
Pool.com used to be the best by far. I haven't checked their success rate lately, but they used to a lot more registrars working for them, and that gives them a lot more chances of grabbing the dom. Of course signing up with all the major ones gives you even more chances but it's prob not worth it, depending on how much you want to spend and how much the dom is worth to you.
Bump old thread.. I want to backorder a sedo-parked domain, what is the best? Namejet, snapnames, pool.com ano 2009
Hi, All of listed domain back-order services are bad, because they are forcing successful back-ordered domains to public auctions. Does any body knows a good domain backorder sevice who are not pushing successful domain backordered to public action ? Thanks.
No, but you can order another domain, then another one - until you get an email that you backordered domain was successfully captured...
Is there any better method if more people backordered the same domain ? From financial point of view, that is the best solution any backorder service can apply.
If you wish to find out more you can check that on the namepros. That is the biggest forum and there you will be able to find plenty of useful information.
