When I was 16 there were no forums (or internet, personal computers, Ipods, cell phones, or faxes). Communication was done by phone or jungle drums, and for entertainment we painted the cave walls & laughed at the dinosaurs for having smaller brains.
Well guys you always did want me to post a photo. Might aswell post something interesting. I was assaulted for no reason last night, this is my face this morning -
Sigh sometimes I yearn to live in those times.. there was a honor and simplicity to life.. I would have loved to hunt, ranch and farm.. not too sure about the dinosaurs bit though No worries.. it'll go away in a week or so... and now that you are battle scarred, girls are gonna be all over you. BTW did you fight back?
Nah the bouncers grabbed him. I was drunk and the coward hit me from behind so I had no chance. He got locked up for almost 24 hours and cautioned. So pissed off...
I go on an annual canoe/kayak outing every spring that's about as close as you can get to it. In the boonies of north Arkansas surrounded by mountains your cell phones and laptop air-cards are basically paperweights. Signal won't get there unless you go up to the top on purpose to try and reach someone. The nearest "town" (a generous appellation for Dover, Arkansas, USA) is a good 30+ years minimum behind the times too from what I've seen. Here's a shot from one trip up there when my kid had just gotten outta bootcamp (hence the chrome dome haircut). I'm the real handsome one dripping cigar ashes into everyone's breakfast. Good to get away from the 24-hr on-demand accessibility we've come to accept. Easier to recharge your personal battery. For a couple of days we're just GONE... a welcome break.
