How do I get from page 2 to page 1 on Google SERPs?

I'm delighted that my new website is on page 2 of Google SERPs for its main keyword but (obviously) I want it on page 1. I've added more links from good article sites and I'm adding more original content daily - is there anything else I can do?

I've also started a small adword campaign - will this have any effect, good or bad?

 

No, but use same techniques to rank ur website in the search engine and u will be there

 

ok you are doing good job. just look what people like to read online. start R&D for your site content. google always look for most searchable content. You also can post your newly updated content on social bookmarking site to gain extra traffic.

 

Just keep building links. Adwords doesn't have any effect on rankings, although some people keep suspecting it does...but it really doesn't.

 

You can do third step that is make dummy blog from blogspot or .info to save your budget.. All dummy blog link to your main site (URL and article Post, category and tags).

So you can best weapon that are : Original content, backlinks and link building from dummy blog. It will strengthen your SERP.

 

Rinse and repeat. Add more blog comments, forum posts.

 

I think by getting quality links from some quality sites would do the trick... I also have a site that is on second page and pushing it on to first page...the competition is very difficult!Can't find enough resources to look for good quality links.

 

If your use content good but in content you don't use 2 or 3 time your services keywords so how can google understand your target so make content SEO related. also use only dofollow list, link building, get Backlinks, Forum posting this activities give you good effect to your site

 

If your website on-page seo optimization is good, then you will just need more links with your target keyword in the anchor text of the links.

 

I've reached top of page 2 (11th from 13th overnight). Spent an hour today with link development. I've 3 highly original articles ready to publish and another published today. If after publishing the next three - I intend to publish them 1 every 2 days and add links to each x 10 each - I might consider the offer above from Revelations-Decoder. I've done some research* today and he sounds the business. His testimonials are real - I can't remember the last time I discovered real verifiable testimonials. The keyword will remain unpublished on here but I'm now 11th out of 1,009,000

Well done. Keep on submitting your website on the tasks you handled before. Additionally, submit your website to popular do follow social bookmarking sites, Classified Ad Websites and do press release distribution which makes your website bring in foremost position in SERP. Get quality backlinks by posting in forums and blogs. Put comments on other blogs. It will generate high traffic to your website.

 

What you are doing it's the perfect content is the king and it will give you also auto back link beside try to get mroe back link using your keywords so you will get result very soon

Thanks - I'm adding more each day on the article publishing site I use - this gets high page rank for these articles which contain 2-3 links to various pages in the site

 

i think you can buy for some quality backlink from blogger... just search in this forum..

 

I should have added that I don't want to buy anything to increase my SERP but thanks - at least that was an original suggestion

 

It really comes down to backlinks and the competition on the first page. With that said you have to take into account that Google is sometimes slow to find your backlinks.

To give you an idea of how many you will probably need go to yahoo site explorer and check out how many links the top 5 pages have. Then try to get more then them and better quality backlinks. You can also use it as a means to find out where they got there's from and get links for your site.

Also if you haven't already start bookmarking your site at popular social bookmarking sites.
