Newbie question: What is H1 & H2 header tags

Hellp DP. Have been trying to educate myself on SEO and I came across this numerous time. "Place keywords on H1 & H2 header tags". I understand keywords, but whats H1 /H2 header tags?

Is there a specific place for me to put this if I use blogspot? Coz I dont remember seeing that H1 & H2 tags in the page layout.

<h1>Title</h1> = code for h1 tag
<h2>Sub-Title</h2> = code for h2 tag

Use h1 tag for main page heading and h2 tags (or even h3-h6 tags) for subheadings. They help a LOT with onpage seo.

 

Header tags are very important, but you need to use them correctly. Don't start using them until you understand how they work.

H1, H2 tags can be used for your targeted keywords and normaly SEOs uses them specialy.

 

H1 and H2 is one of the criteria from SEO Friendly theme. Put your blog niche keywords in title (H1) and a brief description of which contain keywords in the sub-title (H2). Everything is located in the header. Not all premium themes is seo friendly but make sure your blog meet the above criteria.

Other tips to Put nofollow links on footer section Wordpress.org example "powered by wordpress" It will give a good reputation for your blog.
