I have a site called www.Jobsifieds.com Free Job Classifieds. Please take a look at it and tell me what you think. Any ideas you could give me?:)

I use to have a jobs site back in 1997 jobs-careers,com and humanresourcse.com. Two things off the top

Get rid of the folder icons. It doesn't do anything for the design. It is something they have to dl. If you like having an icon there, I would make it a small one related to the industry.

The second thing is when they click on the industry, have the page already populated with at least 10 jobs from your database. You will need to allow them to not just search, but filter by area, company.... When starting make sure you do a couple of things, only show industries with at least 10 jobs . I am assuming you will aggregate them.

You can pick up this book cheap ISBN:0965223930 This is the one that highlighted my site. They ranked it in the top of the top. It financed me opening a consulting firm and my partner now owns numerous houses on Fort Meyers Beach renting them to Europeans. LOL.

I can review the different revenue streams we had before we sold it to one of our competitors. We lucked out, since we had created and housed websites to over 400 MRI local offices and over 100 Humana Intl offices. There were allot of things I had wanted to do to it over time, but time was one thing we did not do. It took us less than a year to build to a critical base. If interested PM me and we can discuss particulars.

One other thing as a heads up. Affiliate content stuff works real good with this type of site. So advertising ebooks with thinsg like writing killer resumes, building resume systems, advertising for resumes, relocation those are all things that seem to do well with this type of directory. I would also make a component that allows people who post jobs to your site, post automatically to other sites and their own sites.

Recruiters pay people to post their jobs to job sites, so they love sites that allow them to post in many places. Especially smaller offices. If you have a component that lets them put the jobs they post on your site also on theirs. You save them more money. We charged 900 a year for their job board on their website. They bought ours, because it also populated our big job site. We also had it populate Monster and a couple fo other websites

It takes very long to load the site. The width of the site overextends the screen of my computer. Can you make it just 100% wide? Anyway, you have covered all fields. Now, you need to add content to your site.

Thanks for the review. Just curious what browser are you using? As it does not do that on my end.

My browser views it perfectly and I use IE which many people use.

I think the basic website looks good but if I were looking for a job, I might get frustrated right away without knowing if there were any jobs in a category. Do you think it might be helpful to have each category list how many jobs are posted in it?

I also had an idea that maybe you could capitalize on the real world and contact companies running ads on Craigslist and the newspaper to start filling up some of the listings for you. I agree with the affiliate situation. You have plenty of space to add some things too and people who are serious about finding jobs, relocating, etc., are willing to pay money to do so.

Good luck. I like the basic website you have started. Did you create it yourself or pay a designer? I really like the the way it looks.

Hello, Kindly change the folders on your website. They make it look so shady. Otherwise, job well done and I guess many are gonna get jobs here!

My browser (Firefox) sees the site well, it downloaded in a momemt. Yes, you should do something with the folders, they make the site look worse than it is. And I'd add advanced search, as the provided search categories are very general, I'd also add a notebook or an opportunity to create an account to save the information one is looking for on the site.

I have verified it in IE6, IE7, IE8, FF3, FF3.5, FF3.6 and Chrome. And well done. Unlike someone who saw some glitches there, for me, the site renders quite acceptably.

However, as an end user, i am not sure what the event calender is supposed to help me find a job!

Also, like many others suggested, if I were you, I would get rid of the folder icons and make them look bit more professional.

The event calendar could be useful if done right If conferences and job fairs are placed into it. It may help draw more people. It is possible once you get enough people hitting the site then you could charge a small fee to post there.

I woudl also build a sister site or place content around retooling. If you can make it search capable the better. Such as when a person is looking for Cobol jobs, they shoudl be fed addvertising around learning c# or java. Someone looking for network admin, get ads about MSCE certs.
Create a Amazon shop too, and put books, audio books around self help, job hunting, dressign for success. You won't get allot of money, but it adds more content and will give you a sale every couple of months.

Another good take on Craigslist. Easier to navigate than Monster and Careerbuilder. Tough market to crack

I like it. Simplistic, easy to navigate, and kudos to you for jumping into a market that has been saturated. Wish you the best of luck on this venture. Overall a great site!
