    a site
is not getting indexed... It's been like 4 weeks since the launch, I got around 10 links (from more or less frequently visited sites) - still nothing. Is it anything about the robots file or sth else? please share your thoughts

i would register with googles webmaster central. It will report information like when it was last crawled and if any problems were found when crawling.

maybe your domain is banned? it is not shown even by keyword "kamen.by", it's a bad sign.

Google is having a problem indexing especially with WordPress so it may not be your website.

You do not need to update the content, but make sure that your robots.txt file is not restricting robots. I had the same problem, and even though it sounds noobish, it was because the software I was using changed it's default to restricting robots.

Since your domain is new, keep adding lot of good content and submit a sitemap to google via google webmaster tools. This will get you indexed very fast once you submit sitemap to google.

Its been only 4 weeks and you are telling about ages. Many websites are deprived of months in getting indexed in Google or any other search engines. Also, 10 links aren't enough for getting your website indexed. Get some more from social networking websites.

Of all the search engines,Google is the fastest to index sites. My site is also a wordpress blog.I have begun to use my domain since the very beginnin of this month and the site is indexed by Google within less than two days. Two simplest ways:1.submit your site to Google and other search engines; 2. Make full use of your Google Webmaster Tools.Submit your sitemap.xml there.

If you want your website to get indexed, then you must do social bookmarking.

Thanks a lot guys, glad to see feedback.

it's new, not banned - that means it's just not indexed

the site is on Joomla - but maybe that's the issue as well

twitted about it already many times...

it is not - i wrote the same settings there as other Joomla sites, that are indexed and rank fine

    done both...

Thanks I guess i'll just concentrate on that.

I just wanted to make sure nothing is terminally wrong with it, you know. I know it takes time but I wanted to make sure waiting has sense.

Few things are important to note before you complain about your site not getting indexed...

    Age of your domain
    Sitemap submitted or not
    Any crawl errors?
    Backlinks
    etc...

Improve on all of them and wait some time, you sure will get indexed....

Create a Sitemap and submit it to Google and more importantly keep on adding new content on your website

Put the link to your site in your signature space here on DP and I am sure indexing will take place... pretty quickly! :)
