I need a VPS. Following are my requirements. Minimum 786 MB Ram upto 1gb Burstable 20gb HD more then 200GB monthly Bandwidth Limit Germany, Netherlands PREF. I need a STABLE host with good speed. I cant deal with my current host, who keeps rebooting the server every day and takes 20-30 mins daily downtime and has the audacity to claim 99.99% uptime. My price range is. $15 willing to pay using PayPal. Also must assure that price will not change for upto 1 year. And no oversellers. Also i prefer someone who has a good backend pipe, i dont want someone who is sharing a cable line 5mbit with 15 nodes that is just not cool. I can go worth lower HD space if willing to provide same amount of ram for cheaper. Again i need a host who will not reboot randomly..(once in a while it is ok) but i cant have server downtime's daily.
!!! $25-35 are you kidding me for that some sites are offering dedicated servers... . I don't require any Control Panel, i do everything via ssh and nano.
As people say you get what you pay for, if your having problems with your current host then maybe you should think why. If you want a stable decent host where your not going to have to worry about the service going down then you are going to need to raise your budget. Yes for $35 you can get a Dedicated Server, however it wont be hosted in a N+1 Datacenter with multiple peer's. If you can't stretch your budge any further then you may need to decrease your spec's, as you said you want a decent pipeline, which your looking at $10/Mbps/Month for the cost to the provider, so when you take in take account the cost's of the server,power,staff $20 don't leave alot left.
Look in to them they have dedicated for $29 and have very hig uptime tooo. http://corenetworks.net/dedicated/ They are dam cheap man there dual core server start with $29 /month. well i know many VPS providers charging more than 30$. And there Intel Dual Core 2.0GHz only $49/month. I saw some good reviews about this hosting also. And also seems to havevery high uptimes. look in to it.
Again the $29 dollar server only has 512MB ram, he wants 756MB at least and 1GB burst, so he would be looking for a server with at least 1 GB, which at corenetworks.net would set him back $49, which is 3 time's his budget, where for around $30 he could get him self a 1GB VPS with a stretch that would perform better than the server for $49.
i actually got the account i wanted. 10 bucks a month 500gb monthly bw with 1gb ram. 20gb hd space. im very happy now. thank you all for your responses the owner allowed me to check server uptime directly from ssh and indeed its very stable.
Yahooking, I really don't think you'll find a reputable host for $10/m... If you do have this VPS for more then a few weeks without problems i'd love to know
Also these kind of Providers are usually fine for maybe a few week's month's and then without warning will disappear when the "owner" has decided he is not making enough money as he cant get 100 vps's on one server to make all the money he expected.
Exactly ... Just give the OP a week or two .. i mean cmon, seriously ... 10$ for a VPS with 1gig of RAM and 500gb of bw ... If the node has 8 gigs of RAM (theoretically) ; ( 1GB RAM X 8 VPS' ) X 10$ = 80$ (plus, a descent host wouldn't shove 8 vps' with 1gb ram each on a node of 8gb ram total ...) If you have seen a node/dedi for 80$ with 8 Gigs of RAM and a lot of bw please tell me. Do the math ... its plain sailing really ... regards, Ryan
Yes, you need to raise your budget as the above have said. I want to know where in the world can you get a dedicated server for under $35.00. A good VPS is going to cost you a minimum of $25.00 as for off-shore VPS I'm not sure. But dude, KickAssVPS.com is really good its 35.00 a month not setup fee and gives you what you want. Why do you need offshore, are you planning on having illegal content downloads, videos, movies?
