Today I was thinking about Adsense and how much of a love/hate feeling I have for it. I love it because it was extremely easy to get an account, getting ads setup on my sites is a cinch and the ads usually are pretty targeted. I hate it because I feel as though the rates are just too low, they're too many MFA sites clogging up the the 'tubes', and the ads are ugly. Then I thought about how Adsense allows anyone above the age of 18 and an internet connection the chance to make their dreams come true without risking their shirts. It really amazes me the more I think about it and I wonder if sometimes us Adsense publishers are too hard on Google. This is by no means meant as an Adsense Circle Jerk or a Google crucifixion. I'd really like to hear your thoughts. What do you think the positives and negatives of Adsense are?
The more people make off adsense the more google makes for itself. So they need us way more. We should be hard on adsense to show that we know whats going on and our rates should not be cut up.
Sometimes google makes me feel like we're living in some sort of dictatorship-watch what you say about google! Don't make google mad! Cause they know EVERYTHING! And if you piss them off, your screwed, chewed and tatooed! It's like 1984 all over again lol..and google? If you're reading this, I didn't write this..uhh..my dog did!
It is a great opportunity for all involved, but I do think publishers are too hard on google. They have thousands of blackhats to deal with, while still making their advertisers feel secure in the system.
In my personal opion (not professional) I think the publisher side of the coin gets the sharp end of the tack.
Before I found DP I loved Google, Gmail, Google Earth and the whole company. After reading so many threads its somehow slipped into my head that their evil. I really don't know how or why I mean they even send me checks every month and the sites ranking above mine all deserve to be there. I guess my minds been corrupted by hundreds of complaints. edit: I was actually slightly scared to post this thinking Google might not like it. Now thats paranoid stupidy.
I feel pretty comfy with my meagre earnings from the big "G". However, those meagre earnings have become so much more meagre in the last week. Huge drop in traffic which means huge drop in Adsense income. Col
Adsense is wonderful, but I feel google havent done enough to stop MFAs. If they make it mandatory to get approval to place the code on a new sites, they could have prevented 90% of MFAs. Just make a manual quality check of the site and all MFAs' are gone! Also, I am not impressed with their support. Not all support mails get a reply and there is no timelimit at all. It can take 1 day, 3 days or never. Thats not the way to treat the publishers.
Google doesnt care about MFA's. They make huge money of these bottom feeder sites as a whole. MSN & Yahoo still seem to get flooded by MFA's which is great for google because they make money of them.
