US and non-US participants ... regarding adsense...

    Hey all...

I was reading the google TAX information page while I cam across the following summary :

Now, my question is regarding the very last sentence in this summary... It talks about EQUIPMENT in the US that is 'involved' with participation in Adsense....

Does this include a hosting server ? Would it mean that if I host a site through a US hosting service that it falls into 'US-based equipment' ??

If you own the server then probably you fall under that category but if you rent a server, it is not yours.

Don't you mean that you won't pay taxes in the US ?

Uhm.... there's no way wich you could eventually NOT pay taxes while making money through adsense... It's not like selling an apple on the market you know ...

The question though was : So it is true that even when you use shard / dedicated hosting wich is on a server wich is located in the US... you don't have to get involved in US tax ? Just with your own countries tax ? This is important to know for starters like myself ... so anyone who knows this for sure, please comment on this ....

Can you stop buying for the server and have the datacenter send the physical server to you ? If you can then you own the server and if not, you are just renting it.

There is two situations when you own the hardware, ie when you send your server to your datacenter and when you did a Rent-To-Own program.

You will know if you own it.

Franck, you pay tax generally if you earn an income from US or in your own country. You are technically supposed to report your US income and earning income from out of your country doesn't exempt you from paying tax.

Of course, certain countries in the middle east may be tax free.

dedicated server is for rent. if you buy server and do co-location, that's your server!

You may be cheating the income tax guys! I hope you got caught soon.. hehe..
In alsmost all countries, including Sinagapore(probably excluding the perto-dollar countries!) you will have to pay income tax from adsense income. And its all going to go through your bank account, so very hard to hide!

So lets be clear on this can we ??
Lets say you live in germany... you host your sites on a US based shared hosting provider...

Now, logically, you pay tax on your revenues to the german IRS, but is there anything else wich you are obliged to, such as US tax ??

You shouldn't need to pay US Tax unless you have employees or actual assets in the US.

what if im receiving money into my american bank account, but i live and work in china, and the site and everything is in china. I dont pay any taxes and the chinese gov would have no way to trace it i assume?

China doesnt do to well tracking taxes. Theres millions of businesses here that arent even registered companies.. hell a huge illegal marketplace had been downtown till a few month ago because the payoffs were rolling in to the police.

    I live in Dubai.

Tax is a word that doesn't exist in my vocabulary!!!

I hate TAX. I paid a lot when I was living in France... Nut now this is a thing of the past.

the only tax I know is from Paypal, but... that's ok.

In Germany for example, you do not pay taxes through the adsense system directly, ie; tax in the USA, however you must declare your income when you perform your Lohnsteuer (income tax) declaration at the end of every year. If it falls below a certain amount, then it is deemed not necessary to declare it. I am guessing that this is the same in most countries, give or take the method.
