Don't have any ideas on color. Be creative. It a game site geared toward grown ups but also kid friendly. Should be at least 250px. Something about a medium size that I can scale down if I have to. Below is what the old one looked like.

I think there is too much going on in the background. As for the other entries, I will get back to you guys.

One more thing, I need to be able to remove to background to make the image transparent which shouldn't be a problem if its properly layered.
