Afternoon All Does anybody know the answer to the following please? Say I wanted to promote laptops via a landing page. I purchase a domain name set up my landing page, optimise my website with keywords, meta tags etc and then build on my ranking. What about if i wanted to sell laptops and trainers. I would have these on seperate pages and build tags around seperate pages. Would these affect my google ranking? If the single product website and the 2 product website held the same info would they both be treated the same way? Guess im trying to save on domain names - I would be going for a universal name. Hope this makes sense!
I would buy a domain and set up sub-domains for separate keywords, products, items. I have read sub-domains are treated as separate sites like starting from zero. I have also read sub-domains do not carry as much weight as a single domain but from my experience you can still rank pretty well with sub-domains. Good luck
thanks for the info. ideally i just want one website with different pages for different products. Sub pages would then come off these main pages. Will i still get good ranking within google if i optimise correctly?
Just work on backlinks for these pages with the keywords that you have with variation of anchor text and depending on how competitive they are you can still rank well in the searches, just look at the competition and do more than what they've done, it might take some time but it can be done.
