Yes of course there are article submission softwares, but i would recommend you not to use software for submitting article. Do it manually or it would be considered as spam.
In my experience many article directories give little benefit as alot are very low ranking sites and your article is buried in the index. Theres only a handful of decent ones worth posting to and manually is the way to go since some allow links in the body and some don't. I usually go to: goarticles, ezinearticles and articlebase and buzzle. I also publish to a few niche relevant article directories with decent rankings but those are the best generic ones i know of. Other posters might well know of more decent ones...

Everybody say manual submissions are the best... wow... if you have a good articles submission script how will the directories know if it's automated or manual submission??? Well, I know that manual submission gives you more flexibility but if you have nothing else to do but submit manuall then you can go ahead. Just remember that besides the top 20 or so directories the rest are useless and will take forever to review your articles if they ever do review them. Finally, I suggest you submit manually to the main 5 or 10 directories and then use something like Magic Article Submitter to submit your article to other directories (you can spin and submit as well).
There are so many softwares like articlesubmitterpro etc which automatically submit articles to directories. However they do not do the job perfectly as the article directories require different formats, and guidelines for submitting articles. Manual submission is the best as you can create an Author Profile with your brand and do the submissions under it. That gives credibility to your business as well as directories like EZA awards, Expert Author, Platinum Author etc. We get several clients everyday saying that they tried automated softwares with little or no effect and need our manual article submission services.
To be very frank, there is not better way than manual submissions Those auto submission softwares can throw up a lot of errors during the submission process, it might show you as having submitted, but actually it might not have submitted the way it is to be submitted, that is many a times the resource box links get broken or do not get parsed properly in the article sites since the software added some improper codes to it, it all happens. Manual submission, you know that it actually did get submitted, also submit unique articles to each article site and you know that your backlinks also gets counted.
Article submission is best way to get targeted traffic and quality back links, My honest option is to submit original articles manually, don't use any software for submission. Gd Luck.
I would agree. UAW is the best. You do not need to worry about the automated aspect of this software because you get to regulate how many versions of the spun article you would like to have submitted on a daily basis. I have found that by submitting just 10 articles per day, it will appear completely normal to the search engines. You submit, you put it on autopilot and forget it. You don't need to spend your energy entering these articles manually every day. Instead, spend your energy writing unique content and let the distribution service work for you.
