We come to the same point again and again... It doesn't matter whose fault it is now.. As both RBI and PayPal are involved; both parties are responsible for this demise. RBI could have handled the situation without completely suspending the transactions while PayPal could have got satisfactory clearance before from RBI. Hell! it doesn't matter now. What matters is who is responsible for the delay now? Its been almost 20 days now since this issue started..As for the reversal of the transactions; it is within PayPal's TOS which we users don't care to even go through. So you cant blame them..They clearly say they can reverse, chargeback any transaction without prior permission if there is a problem...

Paypal must have included this now, I am sure they cannot do this. With out proper valid reason and intimation they cannot reverse payments. If they can do, we better stop using it and find some alternative. But no payment processor is as cheap and best as paypal, I admit.

PayPal had this included a long time back. That was the main thing in their TOS. They are not a bank so no banking rules apply to them. They are just another service provider.. They can include any terms in their TOS.

If no banking rules apply to them, why does RBI come in to picture and why do they need to follow RBI instructions (as per Indian transactions are concerned). They should have minimum ethics right?

At least Paypal recommend this option (as of now) ... they also offered to refund the $5 fees for check withdrawals. Ppl losing their patience shld go for it. For me, Im still optimistic tht the things will be sorted out soon.

RBI comes into picture because as per RBI PayPal is involved in cross border remittance which requires RBI's permission.Well their ethics are for their employees and not for the customers..Its just like any other corporation.. If a seller decides he doesn't want to sell a product to you, you can do nothing about it.. Its the same thing with them..

I made a withdrawal through check. I emailed Mr.Farhad Irani. And an agent replied on his behalf. He said that it would be expedient to to make a check withdrawal right now since they do not know precisely when this issue will be resolved. SO I made a check withdrawal. The check processing takes upto 48 hrs then it is mailed. It takes atleast 5 days to receive the check at your address.
